Harris had four carries for just four yards in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Patriots. He was not targeted in the passing game.
EDGE Analysis
Carlos Hyde is looking healthier, as he received 19 carries for 86 yards Sunday. Meanwhile, Shaun Draughn came back from the dead, catching all three of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown. Neither Harris nor Draughn is going to supplant Hyde if he's healthy, but it's interesting that Draughn was used as more of the third-down back Sunday.

Harris carried the ball five times for 14 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Arizona. He was not targeted in the passing game.
EDGE Analysis
Harris -- who gained 142 all-purpose yards last week -- was not a fantasy factor with Carlos Hyde (shoulder) making his return to field. The latter did not have any success on the ground Sunday, but there were no reports of a setback regarding his banged up shoulder. Harris will serve as the team's change of pace back against the Patriots next week.

Harris is expected to hold down a role in the 49ers' backfield Sunday at Arizona, despite the presence of Carlos Hyde (shoulder), Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since his promotion to the 49ers' 53-man roster in Week 7, Harris has impressed in all realms, racking up 21 carries for 98 yards, seven receptions (on eight targets) for 101 yards, and one touchdown grab in two games. If Hyde is able to approach his previous status as the primary ball-carrier, Harris should still hold some utility as a pass-catcher, as he's gathered in 20 of 28 career targets across five professional seasons.

Harris had 10 carries for 59 yards and caught five of six targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-23 loss to the Saints. He also lost a fumble in the second half.
EDGE Analysis
Harris dominated touches in the 49ers' backfield, while filling in for an injured Carlos Hyde (shoulder). In fact, Mike Davis was the only other RB to touch the ball, and he finished with just two carries for 11 yards. Until Hyde returns, it's probably safe to assume that Harris will continue to start and see plenty of work. Next week, San Francisco will have a tough matchup at Arizona.

With Carlos Hyde (shoulder) on track to be out, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Harris is expected to start at running back for the 49ers on Sunday against the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
In such a scenario, Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis would also likely factor in, while Harris' potential Week 9 assignment makes him a fantasy dart for those scrambling for running back help in bye-heavy week.

Offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins said Harris has earned more opportunities, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Carlos Hyde (shoulder) unavailable for Week 7 against Tampa Bay, the 49ers deployed a three-man committee featuring Harris, Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn. Harris led the way with 39 rushing yards on 11 carries, but the other two backs both scored touchdowns, with Draughn also serving as the team leader in every key receiving category. Harris seems to be making a good impression, but it won't really matter unless Hyde misses more time. The 49ers didn't provide any update on their lead back's status Tuesday. If Hyde is healthy, Harris will merely split backup work with Draughn and/or Davis.

Harris had 11 carries for 39 yards and caught both of his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 34-17 loss to Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Harris led the 49ers' backfield in touches, although Mike Davis scored a short touchdown and Shaun Draughn was the team's leading receiver with five receptions on seven targets for 37 yards. Harris, who was just promoted to San Francisco's active roster, will have a role until Carlos Hyde (shoulder) returns from injury. Considering the 49ers are on bye next week, Hyde's return could be in Week 9.

Harris was promoted to the 49ers' active roster on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Harris' promotion is likely temporary with the 49ers' currently thin at running back. Harris' status on the active roster is likely directly linked to Carlos Hyde (shoulder), but as long as the latter remains out, Harris provides necessary depth at running back.

Harris, currently on the 49ers' practice squad, will likely be promoted to the active roster in the wake of teammate Carlos Hyde's shoulder injury, Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hyde's injury likely won't sideline him long, but the 49ers still need backup nonetheless; only Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn currently round out the rest of the team's running back corps.

Harris was released by the 49ers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With the 49ers' tight end corps currently dinged up in advance of Week 4, the team evidently needed Harris' roster spot in order to promote reserve TE Je'Ron Hamm from the practice squad. It's true Harris was buried on the depth chart during his stay in San Francisco, but it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility for him to resurface on another roster before season's end.
