Lock completed two of six passes for three yards and an interception in the 17-16 loss to the Rams on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Geno Smith exited the game late in the third quarter after taking a hard hit from Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Lock entered the game in relief but was unable to get the offense moving, completing his two full drives with a three-and-out and an interception. Smith eventually returned to the game for the final drive, which ended in a Jason Myers missed field goal. The Seahawks play again Thursday versus the 49ers. According to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune, head coach Pete Carroll expects Smith to be ready. If Smith is unable to go, Lock will start in the daunting divisional matchup.

Lock (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Bengals, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock was a mid-week addition to the injury report, failing to practice Thursday. If Lock is unable to suit up as Geno Smith's backup Sunday, Holton Ahlers will likely be elevated from the practice squad.

Lock completed two of six passes for 63 yards in Monday's 24-3 win over the Giants. He also rushed once for 11 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Lock closed out the second quarter after Geno Smith left briefly with a knee injury. This was his first regular-season action with the Seahawks. While his completion percentage was ugly, his night featured a short completion to Noah Fant, who raced down the right sideline for a 51-yard pickup. Smith finished the game and should be ready to go following the Seahawks' Week 5 bye, but the situation is worth monitoring in superflex leagues.

Lock completed 16 of 25 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 19-15 preseason loss to Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks held out their starters and let Lock play most of the game before handing things over to Holton Ahlers late in the second half. There were no signs of Lock struggling with the knee injury he suffered a week prior, and he's locked in as the No. 2 QB in Seattle heading into a Week 1 matchup with the Rams.

Lock left Saturday's preseason contest against the Cowboys early due to a knee injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock stated, "It's good. It'll be alright. I think it was just a precautionary thing," after the game. With the veteran locked into the team's No. 2 role behind starter Geno Smith, it makes sense the team wouldn't bother pushing him and risking anything further. Head coach Pete Carroll added, "It sounds like he's going to be fine after the evaluation. He got a little bit of a strain in the back of his knee, it got hyperextended a little bit, but there's no damage, so they think that he'll play next week."

Lock completed 17 of 24 passes for 191 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Thursday's 24-13 preseason win over the Vikings. He added three rushing attempts for 14 yards.
EDGE Analysis
After a quiet first quarter, Lock heated up in the second, leading a six-play, 59-yard touchdown drive that he capped with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Easop Winston. He stayed in the game for the third quarter, during which Lock threw an interception and a 19-yard touchdown pass to Jake Bobo. Undrafted rookie Holton Ahlers replaced Lock for the fourth quarter. Lock's the prohibitive favorite to beat out Ahlers for the backup spot behind Geno Smith, and the former Denver quarterback is likely to play the majority of snaps again in Seattle's second preseason game, Aug. 19 against the Cowboys.

The Seahawks and Lock agreed to terms on a one-year contract Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Seattle thus will operate with the same quarterback room from last season in the upcoming campaign, only with no competition in store after the impressive campaign put together by starter Geno Smith, who inked a three-year, $105 million extension in early March. Lock didn't see the field at all in 2022, but he'll at least be veteran insurance in the event Smith has to miss any time in the fall.

Lock didn't play an offensive snap during the 2022 season.
EDGE Analysis
Lock lost a close battle with Geno Smith for the starting job during training camp. Smith left no doubt with his performance in the regular season with 4,282 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Lock will be a free agent in March, and it's uncertain whether he'll stay with the team. He's still a credible backup quarterback, but his chances of starting in Seattle are slim, even if Smith ends up leaving in free agency.
