Lock completed four of seven passes for 26 yards with an interception in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Teddy Bridgewater limped off the field in the first half with a shin injury, forcing Lock into the game, and the 25-year-old's most notable play came when he was picked off by Derwin James. Bridgewater returned after the half, however, putting Denver's No. 2 QB back on the sidelines. It was Lock's first action since Week 4, and on 26 attempts this season he has a 0:2 TD:INT, making it clear why he lost a preseason job battle with Bridgewater.

Lock (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list by the Broncos on Saturday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock was unable to suit up for two consecutive games after he tested positive for COVID-19 in early November. However, he's now cleared the league's health and safety protocols and should be able to return to practice ahead of the Broncos' Week 12 matchup against the Chargers. The 25-year-old should reclaim his role as the No. 2 quarterback behind Teddy Bridgewater.

Lock's placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to Sunday's game against the Cowboys was the result of a positive test for the virus, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Klis, Lock learned Saturday that a non-team-related close contact had tested positive for the virus, and the quarterback was subsequently deemed positive himself after undergoing tests late Saturday and early Sunday. Fortunately for Denver, top signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater wasn't placed in the protocol after testing negative Sunday, clearing the way for him to start against Dallas, while No. 3 quarterback Brett Rypien serves as his backup. Since Lock is vaccinated, he'll be eligible to rejoin the Broncos whenever he's asymptomatic and tests negative on two occasions at least 24 hours apart. He'll thus have a chance at being ready to reclaim backup duties for the Broncos' next game Nov. 14 against the Eagles.

The Broncos placed Lock on the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Lock becomes the third Broncos player to be ruled out for Week 9 due to COVID-19 protocols, joining tight end Noah Fant and guard Netane Muti. Both Fant and Muti were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list as a result of positive tests of the virus, but it's unclear if Lock also tested positive or if he was merely ruled out as a close contact of an infected person or persons. In any case, Brett Rypien will step in as the backup to starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater with Lock out Sunday.

Lock completed 12 of 21 passes for 113 yards and an interception in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Teddy Bridgewater got knocked out of the game late in the second quarter with a concussion, but Lock had little luck moving the offense when he took over in the second half. If Bridgewater is forced to miss additional time, Lock would at least get a full week of practice to prepare for a Week 5 tilt in Pittsburgh, but there would be little reason to expect a much better performance given his track record.

Lock will enter Week 1 as Denver's backup quarterback, with coach Vic Fangio naming Teddy Bridgewater as the starter, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
An impressive preseason wasn't enough for Lock to keep his job, in part because Bridgewater also put up good numbers. Lock, a 2019 second-round pick, now slides into a backup role for the beginning of his third NFL season. It won't come as any surprise if he starts games before the end of the year, though Bridgewater theoretically has enough talent around him in Denver to win games and keep the job even if his own performance is merely average.

Lock entered Saturday's 30-3 preseason win over the Seahawks with 8:43 remaining in the second quarter and completed nine of 14 passes for 80 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He also rushed once for no gain and and recovered two of his own fumbles.
EDGE Analysis
After getting the starting nod against the Vikings in preseason Week 1, Lock ceded that opportunity to Teddy Bridgewater on Saturday. Bridgewater performed well while getting an opportunity to play with some first-unit skill players, while Lock's performance was unsurprisingly a bit rockier and also saw him take two sacks. With only one preseason game remaining and head coach Vic Fangio unlikely to risk the health of his starting offense, the on-field job auditions of Lock and Bridgewater may have essentially come to an end, with a decision on a Week 1 starter likely to stem from what each has put on film in camp and over the first two preseason contests.

Lock might be able to win the starting quarterback job with a strong performance in Saturday's preseason game against Seattle, according to Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com.
EDGE Analysis
Lock has some buzz after throwing for 151 yards and two touchdowns on three drives in Saturday's preseason opener against the Vikings. Then again, Teddy Bridgewater also played well -- 7-of-8 for 74 yards and a TD -- and head coach Vic Fangio has consistently called it a close competition. Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur may have dropped a hint Thursday afternoon, noting that Lock "just needs to play well and continue on the right path. We've seen the improvement. We've seen a young player get better with an offseason and with a training camp." Lock may have nudged ahead, but it seems the Broncos will stick with their original plan of having Bridgewater start the second preseason game, facing the Seahawks this weekend.

Lock completed five of his seven pass attempts for 151 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Lock drew the start in the Broncos' first preseason game and didn't waste his opportunity to impress the coaching staff. He completed an 80-yard touchdown down the middle of the field to KJ Hamler on the first play of the second drive. On the next possession, Lock lead a 10-play, 85 yard touchdown drive that was highlighted by a 33-yard completion to Jerry Jeudy and a four-yard touchdown toss to Trinity Benson. Though he remains in a quarterback competition, Lock impressed in his opening chance this preseason.

Lock will start Saturday's preseason game at Minnesota, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He took the initial snap of training camp with the first-team offense, and Lock will do the same as the Broncos open their exhibition slate. In the next breath, though, coach Vic Fangio relayed Teddy Bridgewater, Lock's competition for the starting QB role in Denver, will be under center with the starters in preseason Week 2 against Seattle. Clearly, Fangio is sticking to his word that Lock and Bridgewater will split the first-team reps from the beginning of camp until a decision is made on who will be under center Week 1.
