Brees completed 18 of 32 passes for 217 yards without a touchdown or turnover in Sunday's 33-18 road win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Brees was nowhere hear his best, failing to throw a touchdown while squandering numerous red zone opportunities. Still, he methodically led the offense down the field and controlled the clock, helping set up a three-touchdown day for running back Alvin Kamara. Brees has displayed consistently better results at home in the last few seasons, so he should be able to get his mojo back in Week 5 with the Saints returning to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to host the Redskins.

Brees completed 39 of 49 passes for 396 yards and three touchdowns while adding three rushes for seven yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 43-37 overtime win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Brees came in just 13 completions short of Brett Favre's NFL-record 63,000, and he passed Favre in the second quarter on just his 18th throw. He completed all four of his passes on the opening drive, including a 35-yarder to Michael Thomas on the first play and a four-yard touchdown to Ted Ginn. Brees got his team back into the end zone again with an 11-yard pass to Cameron Meredith and a one-yard strike to Zach Line. He took over with his legs late, rushing for a seven-yard score to tie the game with 1:15 remaining, then breaking that tie with a one-yard plunge in overtime.

Brees completed 28 of 35 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Saints' 21-18 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also lost a yard on his sole rush.
EDGE Analysis
Brees helped the Saints pull out a crucial early-season win by directing a trio of fourth-quarter scoring marches. After being stymied by a surprisingly stingy Browns defense through three quarters. the future Hall of Famer led a nine-play, 66-yard drive early in the fourth quarter that culminated in a two-yard touchdown toss to Michael Thomas. He then finished a brief four-play, 18-yard series with a five-yard scoring dart to Thomas, and spearheaded a six-play, 49-yard drive capped off by a Will Lutz 44-yard field goal go-ahead field goal. Brees now has a 5:0 TD:INT through two games, and he's shown an even better connection with Thomas that could have been expected. He'll look to continue New Orleans' winning ways versus the Falcons in Week 3.

Brees completed 37 of 45 passes for 439 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Saints' 48-40 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.
EDGE Analysis
Although Brees played a mistake-free game and was only sacked once, his defense shockingly couldn't keep up with the record-setting exploits of the Buccaneers' Ryan Fitzpatrick. Brees displayed his usual rapport with top receiver Michael Thomas, finding his third-year wideout on 16 occasions for 180 yards and a touchdown. He also had scoring connections with Alvin Kamara and Ted Ginn, Jr., but after getting the Saints to within 48-40 following a two-point conversion pass to Ginn, the New Orleans defense was unable to get the ball back for him. The future Hall of Famer will look to put the surprising season-opening upset behind him when he and the Saints face the Browns in Week 2.

Brees completed seven of nine passes for 59 yards and one interception during Saturday's preseason game against the Chargers. He also completed a two-point conversion attempt.
EDGE Analysis
Making his preseason debut, Brees wasn't asked to do much and was ultimately subbed from the game before the second quarter ended. While it obviously would've been nice to see a more productive stat line from him, there's no reason to worry about the veteran signal caller who's coming off a 2017 season in which he set the all-time record for completion percentage (72 percent). As we saw last year, the only real concern with him remains the Saints' apparent shift to a rushing-oriented offensive attack.

Brees did not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Brees did not play in the Saints' first preseason game either, but there's no reason for concern here. Brees has been a full participant in practice, and there's simply no need for the veteran to risk injury in a meaningless exhibition. As a result of a reinvigorated running game, last year the future Hall of Fame quarterback attempted his fewest passes in a full season since 2005. Brees nevertheless remains locked in as one of the best signal-caller options in fantasy, even as he enters his 18th NFL season.

Brees and the Saints have reached agreement on a two-year, $50 million contract that includes $27 million guaranteed, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brees could get more money on the open market, but he reportedly has no interest in switching teams for the final few years of his career. Understandably so, given that he's a living legend in New Orleans, where the current roster boasts an excellent supporting cast that includes Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. The Saints also are expected to seek an upgrade at tight end now that they don't have to worry about a dead cap charge from Brees' last contract accelerating to 2018. A reunion with Jimmy Graham isn't out of the question.

Brees and the Saints are expected to reach agreement on a two-year contract Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brees isn't believed to have any interest in leaving New Orleans, but he nonetheless has some leverage thanks to the structure of his last contract, which would leave the Saints with a dead cap charge of $18 million for 2018 if they don't sign the quarterback to a new deal before free agency opens at 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday. All signs point to Brees staying put, even if negotiations have been somewhat tenuous.

Brees is still expected to re-sign with the Saints, Herbie Teope of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brees can become an unrestricted free agent when the league year begins March 14, but he isn't believed to have any interest in a change of scenery at this stage of his career. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis met with Brees' agent Thursday night, and while the two parties have yet to reach an agreement, Loomis reiterated that the quarterback will stay with the team. Brees set an NFL record by completing 72.0 percent of his passes last season, but it didn't translate to the customary gaudy statistics as the Saints were able to rely on an elite running game and a finally-competent defense.

Though Brees is slated to become an unrestricted free agent in March, when asked following Sunday's playoff loss to the Vikings if he considered himself a part of the Saints' future, he replied, "I do," the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brees, who turned 39 on Monday, continues to play at a very high level, having passed for 4,334 yards this past season, while logging a 23:8 TD:INT ratio. Meanwhile, top backup Chase Daniel is also slated to become a free agent this offseason and No. 3 signal-caller Taysom Hill is signed through 2019. Expect the Saints to make re-signing Brees -- who has excelled as the team's franchise QB since 2006 -- an offseason priority, and given his desire to remain with the team, we'd be surprised if the two sides aren't able to strike a deal down the road.
