Inman did not catch any passes in Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, despite getting three targets. Following a 3-107-1 receiving line in the preseason opener, Inman has just one catch for 15 yards on six targets over the last two games. He was previously looking good to make the roster as an undrafted free agent, but it may now be the case that he needs to impress in the preseason finale.

Inman caught three passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason opener against the Cowboys. The San Diego Union-Tribune's Michael Gehlken said he would "almost" be shocked if Inman, a rookie UDFA, doesn't make the team. While Gehlken probably wouldn't be all that surprised, the point stands that Inman is having a strong camp, with his practices backed by a standout performance in Thursday's game. The Chargers' wideout group looks rather shaky behind No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen.

Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman has had a "productive start" to training camp. "He's done a nice job the past couple of days," said coach Mike McCoy. "He had a nice offseason also." The top of the Chargers' wide receiver depth chart is set, but Inman could carve out a role as a reserve receiver and special teams player. Inman posted a 50-739-6 line for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL last season.
