Funchess has stood out during Panthers OTAs as a rookie that could make an immediate impact this season, ESPN.com reports.
Funchess was selected in the second round of this year's draft after impressing as a tight end/wide receiver hybrid at Michigan. At 6-4, 232 pounds, Funchess boasts fantastic size for a wideout and deceptive speed for someone his size. That versatility, along with Kelvin Benjamin's recent hamstring injury, has allowed Funchess to handle reps at all three wide receiver spots in Carolina's offense during practice, where his unique skill set has drawn positive reviews thus far.
