Thomas (hamstring) will practice Wednesday. "He's healthy and ready to go," coach Andy Reid noted of Thomas in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. In addition to serving as the Chiefs' top punt returner, Thomas could be a factor in the team's offense in a complementary role in his return, given that the team's top back, Jamaal Charles, is dealing with a high ankle sprain that clouds his Week 3 status.

Thomas (hamstring) could return to action this week, the Kansas City Star reports. "[Thomas] should be able to work himself back in this week," coach Andy Reid said. "We'll just see how he does once we get to Wednesday." Thomas missed his first two potential NFL outings due to a hamstring injury, but his debut now seems imminent, if he's able to fit in the requisite practice this week. Meanwhile, Jamaal Charles suffered a high ankle sprain of undetermined severity this past Sunday, thereby placing his immediate availability in question. There are a number of questions to be answered as Week 3 approaches, but Thomas or Cyrus Gray (foot) could be minor factors in the run game behind Knile Davis on Sunday in Miami.

Thomas (hamstring) will not play against the Broncos on Sunday, Rachel Santschi of the Chiefs' official site reports. Thomas didn't participate in practice this week, so it's no surprise he is out for the second straight week. The speedster is still waiting to make his debut, where he is expected to play a major role in the return game, and may see time as a pass-catching back similar to Darren Sproles as well.

Thomas (hamstring) will not practice on Thursday, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. We'll revisit Thomas' status Friday, but at this stage he's looking iffy for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Thomas (hamstring) won't practice Wednesday, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. Thomas' Week 2 status thus remains cloudy, and while he could help fill the void created by the departure of the versatile Dexter McCluster at some point, it make take a while before the rookie enters the fantasy lineup radar.

Thomas (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. Thomas was listed as doubtful heading into the game, so his inactive status is hardly surprising. He wasn't expected to be a big fantasy contributor in most standard leagues, although he may have in those which award punt return yards.

Thomas (strained hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Titans, the Kansas City Star reports. Down the road Thomas could help fill the void created by the departure of the versatile Dexter McCluster, but that's on hold for now, with the report noting that Frankie Hammond figures to serve as the Chiefs' primary punt returner, assuming Thomas sits Sunday.

Thomas (hamstring) may miss Sunday's game due to the injury he suffered at the end of practice Wednesday, the Kansas City Star reports. Thomas is an invaluable player in both the return game and on offense. In the offense, he was set to serve in a Darren-Sproles-like position, where he would be used more as a receiver than as a running back. If he can't go, Frankie Hammond Jr., Albert Wilson and Joe McKnight could be used in his special teams role while A.J. Jenkins, Albert Wilson, Junior Hemingway and Joe McKnight are all candidates to take his role offensively.

Thomas (hamstring) will not practice Thursday. Though behind Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis on the Chiefs' running back depth chart, Thomas figures to carve out a role in the team's offense, essentially filling the void created by the departure of the versatile Dexter McCluster. We'll revisit Thomas' status Friday to see if he is able to return to practice for the Chiefs, in any capacity.

Thomas had one reception for 18 yards and one carry for one yard in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings. Thomas also logged the Chiefs' first punt return and first kick return, but he may be limited to just punts once the season begins. Knile Davis, who filled in for Jamaal Charles as the starting running back Saturday, did well as the kickoff return man last season. While not a threat to Charles or Davis, Thomas figures to carve out a niche in the offense, possibly filling Dexter McCluster's vacated role.
