Daniel Thomas (head) is not practicing Wednesday.
The Dolphins haven't announced Thomas' "head" injury as a concussion yet, but it almost certainly was. He hasn't been cleared for contact. Considering it's Thomas' second concussion in one month, he could be looking at an extended absence. Lamar Miller projects to function as Reggie Bush's backup against the Rams Sunday.

Daniel Thomas sustained a head injury Sunday, just one month after his Week 1 concussion.
If Thomas' "head" issue turns into a concussion, he could be looking at an extended absence. Players that suffer two concussions within a short span often struggle to gain clearance. Lamar Miller would back up Reggie Bush if Thomas can't go in Week 6.

Daniel Thomas left Sunday's game against the Bengals with a head injury.
Thomas was injured in the fourth quarter after taking a hit from Bengals LB Rey Maualuga on a first-down run. Thomas had 29 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries before exiting the field.

Daniel Thomas rushed four times for four yards and caught one pass for six yards in the Dolphins' Week 4 loss to Arizona.
We've banged Thomas on here enough that it's not worth the breath anymore. Barring an unforeseen flip of the switch, he's not long for the league. Thomas now has 26 carries for 84 yards (3.23 YPC) on the season. Throw in his fumbling troubles, and Thomas should worry about getting bypassed by Lamar Miller.

Daniel Thomas played 42 snaps in Week 3 compared to just 17 for Lamar Miller.
As previously noted in a Rotoworld blurb on Miller, the Dolphins don't trust the rookie's playbook knowledge or blitz-pickup ability yet. In Sunday's loss to the Jets, Miller was in the wrong place when Ryan Tannehill jogged back to give him a handoff. "I don't know if that's going to inhibit him from getting more snaps," said coach Joe Philbin. Thomas has been thoroughly unimpressive this season, but he's likely to play more because the coaching staff trusts him.

Daniel Thomas rushed 19 times for 69 yards and a touchdown and caught an 11-yard pass in the Dolphins' Week 3 loss to the Jets.
Reggie Bush's late second-quarter knee injury moved Thomas into the feature back role the rest of the way, and he was bad. He lost a critical fumble in the second half, continued to show no elusiveness as a runner (he's a straight-ahead plodder), and was clearly an inferior ball-carrying option to rookie Lamar Miller. Go ahead and grab Thomas off the waiver wire because he'll get carries, but he's most likely to disappoint you.

Daniel Thomas (concussion) is listed as probable for Week 3 after a week of full practices.
Thomas will be active against the Jets after missing Week 2. The question is whether the Dolphins will suit up rookie Lamar Miller after he reeled off 65 yards on just 10 carries in his NFL debut last weekend. If both players are active, we still expect Thomas to operate as Reggie Bush's top backup. Neither player is a viable fantasy option.

Daniel Thomas (concussion) is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Raiders, a source confirms to the Miami Herald.
The Dolphins aren't making the results of Thomas' neurological tests public, but reports say that he has passed. That means the second-year back out as a precaution. It's an opening for rookie Lamar Miller, who was a healthy scratch in Week 1.
