Williams did play a lot in single-wide formations, but the Titans went with a running play out of that set exclusively. Williams saw just two targets and is well off the fantasy radar as the No. 4 wideout in a weak passing game.

Damian Williams has stepped into the slot in place of Kendall Wright (knee). Williams' versatility is one of the reasons he's assured of a spot on the 53-man roster. He's a backup to Nate Washington/Kenny Britt on the outside, and is also Wright's top backup. Through two preseason games, Williams has posted six catches for 100 yards. Wright is tentatively expected back for Week 1.

The Nashville Tennessean considers WR Damian Williams a "lock" to make the 53-man roster. Williams is set to make $1.32 million in the final year of his rookie contract, but the Titans are expected to carry him as their No. 5 receiver. Kevin Walter, Michael Preston and Marc Mariani are also competing for roster spots.

Damian Williams' 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.323 million based on rookie-deal incentives Williams, Tennessee's No. 4 receiver, caught just 30 passes for 324 yards in 2012 as he battled hamstring woes. His best year was in 2011, when he reeled in 45 balls for 592 yards and five touchdowns. As he enters the final year of his contract, the Titans may deem Williams too expensive for a fourth wideout.

Williams has been dealing with a hamstring injury over the past few weeks, McCarthy is being eased back with a concussion, and Solomon has a knee injury. Tim Shaw will start at middle linebacker for Tennessee.
