Cook -- who is currently on Baltimore's practice squad -- is likely to get an opportunity in the playoffs, as the Ravens are dissatisfied in the current state of their running back room, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Melvin Gordon have posted underwhelming numbers recently, averaging a combined 4.0 yards per carry in recent games. Edwards has also fumbled in each of the last two games, and Gordon added to his extensive history of fumbling in Baltimore's regular-season finale. The situation is ripe for Cook to take on a larger role in the postseason, but whether he can take advantage of that opportunity is a different matter, as Cook averaged a paltry 3.2 yards per carry without a touchdown in 15 appearances for the Jets prior to being waived and eventually winding up on Baltimore's practice squad.

Cook signed with Baltimore's practice squad Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Cook's signing was made official one day after his agency announced that he was headed to Baltimore's practice squad. The veteran running back played 15 games with the Jets prior to being waived and going unclaimed. He wasn't very effective in New York, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and failing to score a touchdown, but if the change of scenery revitalizes the four-time 1,000-yard rusher, Cook could contribute in the postseason by joining a backfield that's currently comprised of Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Melvin Gordon.

The Jets and Cook mutually agreed to part ways Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since the NFL trade deadline has already passed, Cook is subject to waivers. Assuming he does clear, the veteran running back will try to land with a contender to close out the season after his 17 weeks in New York produced below-average results. He opened the year in a 1B role alongside Breece Hall, but Cook quickly faded from the mix and has seen double-digit touches only once since Week 3. Cook was active last Thursday night against the Browns but played zero snaps. He finishes his Jets tenure with 67 carries for 214 yards (3.2 YPC) and zero touchdowns, adding 15 catches for 78 yards on 20 targets. Perhaps a change of scenery, and a team with better blocking, will rejuvenate him.

Cook didn't have a carry or target in Thursday's 37-20 loss to the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Cook went without a touch for a second consecutive game, as Israel Abanikanda (six touches) worked as the backup to Breece Hall (22 touches). Cook will likely be a minor part of the game plan at best when the Jets wrap up their season Week 18 at New England.

Cook didn't have a carry or target in Sunday's 30-28 win over the Commanders.
EDGE Analysis
Breece Hall turned 32 touches into 191 yards from scrimmage, and Israel Abanikanda rushed nine times for 43 yards while Cook remained stapled to the bench. The 6-9 Jets will likely continue to rely primarily on the 22-year-old Hall and 21-year-old Abanikanda over the 28-year-old Cook down the stretch, especially because Cook is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry with New York.

Cook rushed once for four yards and caught his lone target for six yards in Sunday's 30-0 loss to the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Cook handled just two touches compared to six for rookie Israel Abanikanda. The Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention after dropping to 5-9, so Cook may continue to be phased out down the stretch to allow more opportunities for Abanikanda behind lead back Breece Hall.

Cook rushed seven times for 13 yards and caught his lone target for minus-5 yards in Sunday's 30-6 win over the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets' offense came alive with 30 second-half points after the game was scoreless at halftime, but Cook unsurprisingly didn't play a major part in that success. Breece Hall nursed an ankle injury in practice during the week but ended up handling his usual workload, turning 18 touches into 126 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. Cook will likely continue to work in a change-of-pace role behind Hall in Week 15 against the Dolphins.

Cook (shoulder) rushed nine times for 35 yards, caught one of two targets for 11 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Cook posted his highest rushing yardage total of the season, but his second-quarter fumble in Jets territory set up the only touchdown of the game on Atlanta's ensuing drive. New York's offense has struggled all season, and Cook's poor play after signing with the Jets as a free agent has contributed to the team's shortcomings.

Cook (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
A late addition to the Week 13 injury report after the shoulder issue resulted in him being a limited participant in Friday's practice, Cook ended up taking a questionable tag into Sunday. Head coach Robert Saleh indicated after Friday's practice that Cook would be fine for Sunday's game, and as anticipated, the running back avoided the inactive list. He should operate as the top backup to lead back Breece Hall, though that role hasn't translated to much in the way of production for Cook of late. Over the Jets' five games since the team's Week 7 bye, Cook has taken on just 14 touches (11 carries, three receptions) while accounting for 73 yards from scrimmage and no touchdowns. Because Hall was limited some at practice this week with a hamstring injury of his own, however, it's possible that Cook ends up getting more work than he had in previous weeks.
