Davis (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis practiced fully Wednesday, so his addition to the Jets' Week 3 injury report is notable. Cimini notes that he saw the wideout in the team's locker room after practice Thursday, and he "seemed OK," but this nonetheless is a situation to monitor ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals. Through his first two games this season, Davis has put up an 8-160-1 line on 14 targets.

Davis caught two of four targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was quiet for most of the game before getting behind the defense for a 66-yard touchdown with 1:22 to play. That touchdown pulled the Jets within six points, and New York proceeded to score the winning touchdown exactly one minute later after recovering an onside kick. With Davis, Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson -- who topped 100 yards with two touchdowns against Cleveland -- New York has quietly compiled a talented group of wide receivers. They'll continue to catch passes from Joe Flacco in Week 3 against the Bengals before possibly getting Zach Wilson (knee) back under center the following week.

Davis caught six of nine targets for 77 yards in Sunday's 24-9 loss to the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Davis led the Jets in receiving yards and was one of six players to draw at least seven targets from Joe Flacco, as an early deficit forced New York into a pass-heavy game script. Flacco's expected to remain under center in Week 2 against the Browns, but even when Zach Wilson (knee) comes back, Davis should remain a key cog in the Jets' passing game. Rookie first-round pick Garrett Wilson finished second on the team with 52 receiving yards, followed by Elijah Moore at 49, so New York's top three wide receivers were all moderately productive in the season opener.

Davis caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 31-27 preseason win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Davis' reception came on New York's second offensive play. Although the veteran didn't feature for long, it was another opportunity to work with quarterback Joe Flacco, who likely will start Week 1 with Zach Wilson (knee) still sidelined. After posting 34 catches (on 59 targets) for 492 yards and four touchdowns in nine games for the Jets last season, Davis faces added competition from rookie first-rounder Garrett Wilson heading into the upcoming campaign, when Elijah Moore is anticipated to make a leap as well.

With the Jets' healthy starters expected to play at least a quarter in Sunday's preseason finale against the Giants, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Davis is in line to see action in the contest.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was among the team's key players who didn't play in this past Monday's preseason game against the Falcons, but he's in line to log some snaps Sunday. Once the regular season starts, Davis will be a key cog in a Jets' WR corps that also includes Elijah Moore, 2022 first-rounder Garrett Wilson and Braxton Berrios.

Davis is among the Jets players in line to be held out of Monday's preseason game against the Falcons, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The same applies to fellow wideout Elijah Moore, among other key starters, which sets the stage for the Jets coaching staff to have an opportunity to evaluate the team's depth options ahead of roster cut-downs. As Week 1 approaches, Davis is in line to handle a key role in the team's passing game alongside Moore, with 2022 first-rounder Garrett Wilson and slot option Braxton Berrios also in the mix on that front.

Davis expects the Jets' passing game and his own production to take a big step forward in 2022, Jack Bell of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis had a team-high 349 receiving yards through six games in 2021, but injuries derailed his season from there. The veteran wide receiver had surgery to repair groin and core muscle injuries, and Davis has subsequently dropped a few pounds in an effort to improve his speed and health. Per Connor Hughes of The Athletic, Davis weighed in at 205 pounds for Jets training camp, down from his listed playing wight of 209 pounds. Davis also said that he's willing to shift into the slot when called upon, adding further flexibility to a Jets receiving corps that has used premium draft picks on Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson -- both of whom can play either inside or outside -- in the last two NFL drafts.

Davis (groin) will be joined by rookie Garrett Wilson in New York's receiving corps, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets selected Wilson 10th overall out of Ohio State. On paper, Wilson's skill set should mesh nicely with that of Davis, as Wilson's an undersized speedster who can stretch the field and allow Davis to use his 6-foot-3, 209-pound frame to establish position in single coverage on the other side of the field. As the veteran option in a young receiving corps that also includes Elijah Moore, Davis likely will be leaned on as a safety blanket for quarterback Zach Wilson, assuming Davis is recovered from the groin injury that ended his first season in New York.

Davis (groin) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis' move to IR was merely procedural after head coach Robert Saleh confirmed Monday that the wideout would require season-ending core-muscle surgery after aggravating a groin injury in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. The 26-year-old wraps up his first season with Gang Green with 34 receptions for 492 yards and four touchdowns over nine games.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Davis will undergo season-ending core-muscle surgery.
EDGE Analysis
Davis lasted just 24 plays in Sunday's loss to the Eagles before checking out of the contest after aggravating the groin injury that previously sidelined him for the Week 12 win over the Texans. The core-muscle injury was more than likely related to the hip issue that also sidelined Davis for Weeks 8 and 9, so the Jets are seemingly hopeful that surgery will be able to address the matter once and for all. Signed to a three-year, $37.5 million contract this offseason with the hope that he would emerge as a bona fide No. 1 wideout for New York, Davis finishes his inaugural campaign with the Jets with 34 receptions for 492 yards and four touchdowns on 59 targets over nine appearances. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, most core-muscle procedures carry 8-to-10-week recovery timelines, so Davis should be back at 100 percent -- or close to it -- for OTAs.
