The Seahawks and Carson agreed to a contract Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
With his return to Seattle settled, Carson again will rise to the top of the running back depth chart. He posted back-to-back seasons with at least 1,300 yards from scrimmage and exactly nine touchdowns in 2018 and 2019, but an injury-plagued campaign last fall limited him to 968 total yards and nine more scores in 12 games. Carson will look to get back to his form from a few years ago in 2021.

Carson isn't getting a franchise tag, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carson now becomes an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year March 17, unless the Seahawks sign him to a contract before then. Having made it this far without an extension or franchise tag, Carson likely will want to see what's available on the open market.

Carson rushed 16 times for 77 yards and caught one of two targets for five yards in Saturday's 30-20 wild-card loss to the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks' offense struggled to move the chains Saturday, but Carson was running hard once again, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. The 26-year-old running back had a down year as the Seahawks shifted to a more pass-heavy scheme than before. Carson rushed 141 times for 681 yards and five touchdowns over 12 games and 37 receptions (46 targets) for 287 yards and four touchdowns. His 4.8 yards per carry was a career high. The 2017 seventh-round pick is set to be an unrestricted free agent in March. His performance makes a strong case to be re-signed by the Seahawks. The fact that Rashaad Penny, DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer (knee) failed to produce this year helps Carson's cause as well.

Carson (foot) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's wild-card matchup with the Rams, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carson's practice reps were capped this week, the result of load management. After sitting out Tuesday and logging a limited session Wednesday, he's set to lead the Seahawks backfield yet again this weekend. Since returning to action Week 12 after four games missed due to a mid-foot sprain, Carson has averaged 15 touches for 83 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three TDs over six contests.

Carson (foot) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carson upgraded his participation after sitting out of Tuesday's practice. For both practice sessions, he was designated with a "load management" tag to go along with the foot injury. The fourth-year running back has logged limited practices ever since returning from a foot sprain Week 12, but he's on track to play in Saturday's wild-card game against the Rams. Carson has averaged 16 touches and 87.8 yards from scrimmage per game over the past five weeks, totaling two touchdowns in that stretch.

Carson (foot) was a non-participant at Tuesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks typically manage Carson's reps during the practice week, and they're explicitly doing so once again. Along with the foot injury, the Seahawks listed Carson with a "load management" tag. If Carson's absence extends into Wednesday and Thursday's practices, then there will be some cause for concern. Carson has logged between 13 and 19 touches in each of the past five games, and he's expected to handle a similar role in Saturday's wild-card game against the Rams.

Carson (foot) rushed 11 times for 44 yards and caught both of his targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
Carson finishes the 2020 regular season with 681 rushing yards and five touchdowns over 12 games. While this appears to be a step backwards after eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark each of the last two years, the power back actually set new career highs in yards per carry (4.9), receiving yards (287) and receiving touchdowns (four) while missing four games due to injury. The 26-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason, so it will be interesting to see if the Seahawks decide to uncharacteristically open the checkbook for anyone not named Russell Wilson. Carson could potentially land in another situation that is more conducive to a downhill runner like him, and his slight improvement as both a runner and receiver this season could move his fantasy arrow upwards if that were to happen. In the meantime, he and the rest of the Seahawks will take on the Rams in the first round of the playoffs Sunday.

Carson (foot) doesn't have a designation on the final injury report for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks have managed Carson's practice reps ever since he returned from a four-game absence Week 12. He's averaging 12.8 carries, 3.8 targets and 83 total yards per game since his return, scoring three touchdowns in five games. The Seahawks could lean on Carson a bit more than usual if backup Carlos Hyde (questionable, illness) isn't active Sunday.

Carson (foot) was limited at practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carson again had his reps capped, as has been the case for the running back since he returned Week 12 from four contests missed due to a foot sprain. During his most recent five-game stretch, he's averaged 15.4 touches for 83 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three TDs. Assuming he's the lead back for the Seahawks on Sunday against the 49ers, Carson can expect a similar workload.

Carson (foot) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carson returned from a foot sprain Week 12, and he's consistently been limited during practice to manage his reps. There's no real cause for concern about his status ahead of the season finale against San Francisco unless he downgrades to no participation Thursday or Friday. With the NFC's No. 1 seed still in play, Carson likely is preparing for a workhorse role this week.
