The Buccaneers are signing Edmonds to a one-year contract Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds is coming off a disappointing 2022 campaign, having suited up for eight games with the Dolphins and five games with the Broncos, but with just 245 rushing yards and two touchdowns (3.6 YPC) plus 16 catches for 157 yards and a receiving score. The 26-year-old did look better down the stretch in Denver, and from 2019-21 with Arizona he was one of the most efficient running back's in the NFL, so he's could be worth monitoring in his new landing spot. With the Buccaneers having released Leonard Fournette, Rachaad White currently stands as Edmonds' primary competition for touches.

The Broncos are slated to release Edmonds, Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
EDGE Analysis
Per Schefter, releasing Edmonds will free up $5.92 million in salary cap space for the Broncos. In 13 games (eight with Miami and five with Denver) this past season, Edmonds carried 68 times for 245 yards and two touchdowns while adding 16 catches for 157 yards and a receiving score. The 26-year-old will now look to catch on with another team in need of backfield help ahead of the 2023 NFL campaign.

Edmonds appeared in 13 games during the 2022 season, rushing 68 times for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught 16 of 24 targets for 157 yards and one touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds found a new home during the 2022 season after being traded from Miami to Denver on Nov. 1, a deal sending linebacker Bradley Chubb to the Dolphins. The veteran running back scored all three of his touchdowns while in Miami for the first eight weeks of the season. Following the trade, Edmonds appeared in just five games with the Broncos, rushing 26 times for 125 yards and catching six of seven targets for 61 yards. The 26-year-old missed four games after being placed on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain, further limiting his time on the field. Edmonds saw double-digit carries just once this season back in Week 1 with the Dolphins. Looking ahead to the 2023 campaign, Edmonds remains under contract and is set to become a free agent in 2024. With teammate Javonte Williams (knee) recovering from a season-ending right ACL tear, Edmonds could find himself in an increased role out of the backfield to start the season if Williams is not ready to go. With fellow running backs Latavius Murray, Marlon Mack (hamstring) and Mike Boone (ankle) all hitting free agency this offseason, it will be interesting to see what the Broncos decide to do in the backfield given Williams' injury status.

Edmonds rushed seven times for 34 yards and caught all three of his targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Despite a relatively quiet fantasy day as the Broncos' No. 2 running back, Edmonds played 41 of Denver's 70 offensive snaps in the contest. Meanwhile, starter Latavius Murray played just one more snap than Edmonds. As the Broncos' disappointing season nears its end, it's possible the team wants to see more from its recently acquired veteran instead of relying too heavily on the 32-year-old Murray to close out the season. If a near-even split in playing time continues, Edmonds could have the opportunity to gain some positive momentum heading into the offseason in a Week 18 matchup against the Chargers.

Edmonds (ankle) was activated off of injured reserve and gained 31 yards on six carries and 22 yards on two receptions in Sunday's 51-14 loss to the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds spent the minimum four weeks on injured reserve before being activated ahead of Sunday's tilt. The 26-year-old was mixed in behind starter Latavius Murray (8/41/0) and finished second in backfield touches ahead of Marlon Mack (2/17/0). Edmonds should continue to handle receiving duties while spelling Murray when the Broncos take on the Chiefs in Week 17.

The Broncos have activated Edmonds (ankle) from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds, who last suited up for a game in Week 11, has bounced back from the high ankle sprain that landed him on IR and is slated to bolster the Broncos' backfield depth down the stretch after having returned to practice this past week. In his looming return, it remains to be seen how much work Edmonds sees in Week 16, but for now he figures to work alongside Marlon Mack behind Latavius Murray, assuming Murray -- who is listed as questionable with a foot injury -- plays Sunday, as he believes he will.

Denver designated Edmonds (ankle) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds, who last suited up Week 11, has been cleared to resume practicing Wednesday and is thus a candidate to be added back to the 53-man roster in advance of Sunday's game against the Rams. If that happens, Edmonds would bolster Denver's backfield depth down the stretch, while likely moving into a complementary role behind Latavius Murray. In this past weekend's win over the Cardinals, Murray carried 24 times for 130 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos placed Edmonds (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds was unable to return to this past Sunday's overtime loss to the Raiders after getting injured, and he eventually was diagnosed with a high right-ankle sprain. On Monday, coach Nathaniel Hackett told Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com that Edmonds was slated to miss "a lot of time," which will be at least four games now that he resides on IR. After the Broncos waived Melvin Gordon on Monday, Latavius Murray and Marlon Mack are the only running backs on the active roster, while Devine Ozigbo and Tyreik McAllister are candidates to be elevated from the practice squad.

Coach Nathaniel Hackett noted Monday that Edmonds is in line to miss "a lot of time'" with a high right-ankle sprain, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It remains to be seen if Edmonds is headed to IR, but it sounds like he's going to miss multiple games. With Melvin Gordon no longer in the mix, Latavius Murray, Marlon Mack and Devine Ozigbo (currently on the practice squad) figure to lead the Broncos' rushing attack this coming Sunday against the Panthers.

Edmonds suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Schefter, the injury is expected to sideline Edmonds for a couple weeks. If Edmonds heals quickly, he could see an expanded role behind Latavius Murray, as the Broncos waived fellow running back Melvin Gordon on Monday. Given that high-ankle sprains often require 4-to-6 weeks of recovery time, the possibility also exists that Edmonds may not heal up in time to make an impact before Denver's season ends.
