Coach Jay Gruden confirmed after Monday's 31-15 loss to the Bears that Keenum will remain the Redskins' starting quarterback for the Week 4 matchup with the Giants, Peter Hailey of NBC Sports Washington. "Not really," Gruden said, when asked if he was considering a switch at quarterback. "I can't be changing people every five minutes."
EDGE Analysis
Though the Redskins took losses in their first two games, it was through little fault of Keenum, who completed 69.1 percent of his passes for 7.4 yards per attempt and a 5:0 TD:INT during that stretch. Things completely unraveled for Keenum on Monday, however, as he threw three picks and fumbled three times -- losing two of them -- as Washington dropped to 0-3. At least for now, Gruden will chalk up the ugly outing to a matchup versus a tough defensive unit, but Keenum may not be able to afford a rough showing versus a lackluster Giants defense. Rookie first-round pick Dwayne Haskins is next in line if Gruden decides to pull the plug on Keenum at any point.

Keenum completed 30 of 43 passes for 331 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Monday night's 31-15 loss to the Bears. He also fumbled three times, losing two of them.
EDGE Analysis
Keenum was constantly under pressure, ultimately resulting in him being sacked four times, but hardly helped himself with poor passes and decisions throughout the night. The veteran threw a pick-six on Washington's first offensive drive, then turned it over twice more before halftime. He then was intercepted on the opening series of the second half as well. Although he'd rally with back-to-back touchdown passes immediately after, an ill-advised quarterback sneak attempt saw him stripped on a big fourth-quarter play. That mishap gave Keenum his first career five-turnover game, which should only increase the pressure on the Redskins to promote rookie first-rounder Dwayne Haskins to starter. Whether that happens remains to be seen, but it could be an interesting situation to monitor ahead of Week 4's matchup against the Giants.

Keenum completed 26 of 37 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
In a somewhat daunting matchup, Keenum completed an impressive 70 percent of his passes, although he averaged an underwhelming 6.0 yards per attempt. He completed touchdown passes to Paul Richardson and Terry McLaurin, giving him five scored compared to zero interceptions through his first two games as a Redskin. Keenum has performed admirably despite facing two strong defenses and will look to do more of the same next Monday against the Bears.

Keenum completed 30 of 45 pass attempts for 380 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions during Sunday's 32-27 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Keenum was outstanding against a strong Eagles defense and especially so early on, with touchdown passes of 48 and 69 yards in the first half. He didn't maintain that same level in the second half but still managed to finish with one of the finest stat lines of his NFL career. Keenum was expected to start the season as the No. 1 option before giving way to Dwayne Haskins, but more performances like this could allow the team to bring the rookie along slowly. He'll face another tough matchup next Sunday at home against the Cowboys.

Keenum will begin the season as Washington's starting quarteraback, according to head coach Jay Gruden, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rookie Dwayne Haskins will almost certainly push Keenum for the starting role at some point this season, but Keenum is set to start Week 1 against Philadelphia.

Keenum completed nine of 14 pass attempts for 101 yards in the team's third preseason contest against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Keenum led the team for their first five offensive possessions, which resulted in six points. He wasn't helped by his offensive line, as he was pressured almost immediately on a few plays, causing inaccurate throws. Still, this was Keenum's most promising appearance of the preseason, notably the first time he's completed more than half of his pass attempts. Rookie Dwayne Haskins put together a few impressive throws and will almost certainly push Keenum for the starting role at some point this season, though Keenum should still be considered the favorite to lead the team in Week 1 against Philadelphia.

Keenum's teammate, Colt McCoy (leg), doesn't have a concrete timetable for a return to action, Brian McNally of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, McNally relays that coach Jay Gruden said he hopes to pick his Week 1 starting QB after this Thursday's preseason game versus Atlanta. With McCoy seemingly out of the picture for now, Keenum remains the front-runner for the assignment, though rookie Dwayne Haskins still has a bit of time to make a late run for the nod.

Keenum completed three of seven passes for 52 yards in the team's second game of the preseason against the Bengals on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Keenum played three offensive series', leading the first-team offense. He was largely ineffective, though did show some rapport with veteran tight end Vernon Davis, connecting with him on 17 and 26-yard passes. While Keenum is expected to be the starter in Week 1 against the Eagles, he hasn't looked very strong early on with his new team, completing seven of 16 pass attempts for 112 yards and a touchdown through two preseason games. Both rookie Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy (foot/leg) could push Keenum to be the leader of the offense if he doesn't pick up his performance quickly.

Keenum will start Thursday's preseason contest against the Bengals, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Colt McCoy again ruled out for exhibition action due to lingering effects from his broken right fibula, Keenum is closing in on the starting quarterback gig for Week 1, according to Rick Snider of The Washington Post. Keenum didn't exactly light it up in preseason Week 1, completing four of nine passes for 60 yards and one touchdown, but his veteran status appears to be more favorable in coach Jay Gruden's mind than trotting out 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins to begin the season.

Keenum has emerged as the favorite to start for the Redskins in Week 1 against the Eagles, Rick Snider of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Colt McCoy (foot/leg) struggling in practice and now in danger of missing a second straight preseason game, Keenum and Dwayne Haskins are getting some extra opportunities. Washington still has McCoy listed in the top spot on the depth chart, but his absence left Keenum as the clear choice to start in last week's preseason opener against Cleveland. The 31-year-old completed four of nine passes for 60 yards and a touchdown, while Haskins went 8-for-14 for 117 yards but also tossed a pair of interceptions. Craig Hoffman of 106-7 The Fan Washington agrees that Keenum has taken a lead in the three-way battle to start Week 1.
