Bernard Scott rushed seven times for 20 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's Week 15 win over the Rams.
On an afternoon where Cedric Benson had trouble grinding out tough yards against the league's worst run defense, Scott wasn't much better, breaking off just one run longer than three yards. Three of Scott's rushes, including a one-yard touchdown plunge, came after the Bengals got the ball on the Rams' 12 following a long punt return. As he has been for most of 2011, Scott is off the radar for the final two weeks of the season.

Bernard Scott rushed four times for one yard and added two catches for two yards in Sunday's win over the Browns.
As usual, Scott got two series all to himself. He did nothing with them. Scott remains a simple handcuff to workhorse Cedric Benson.

Bernard Scott carried the ball seven times for 38 yards in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.
Scott spelled Cedric Benson on just two series, carrying the ball four times for 18 yards on a late first-quarter drive before taking it three more times for 20 yards on Cincinnati's second possession of the fourth. Since filling in for a suspended Benson in Week 8, Scott has logged just 13 touches. Although he continues to run for a higher yards per carry than his backfield mate, he remains a pure handcuff.

Bernard Scott returned to his backup role in the Bengals' Week 9 win over the Titans, rushing the ball six times for 24 yards.
Cedric Benson's return from suspension moved him into a clear backup role, seeing just two series to himself all game. He did handle running back duties in a critical fourth down drive, but he's nothing more than a handcuff to Benson going forward.

Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden says he won't change the Bengals' game plan in Bernard Scott's Week 8 start.
The Bengals rank in the NFL's top nine in rushing attempts per game, so this is good news for Scott's carry total. "We're going to be similar the way we attack," said Gruden. "We have to run into some good looks and try to put our guys into the best situation. We're not going to stop running." Despite a tough matchup at Seattle, Scott is a quality bye-week RB2 this week.

In the four career games Bernard Scott has received double-digit rushes, he's averaged 4.6 yards per carry.
Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden sounds genuinely excited about Scott's starting opportunity Sunday. "After you look at the games over the last six weeks, you end up saying (after each game) you'd like to get Bernard a few more touches. This will be a great chance for him," Gruden said. Scott has a brutal matchup against the Seahawks, but views this as his chance for a coming out party. With a good performance, it's possible he sustains an 8-10 touch role even when Cedric Benson returns in Week 9.

Bernard Scott is expected to start for the Bengals when they come out of their bye in Week 8.
Cedric Benson attorney is currently reviewing the NFL's decision to reduce the three-game suspension to one game. It's likely they'll accept that and serve the suspension against the Seahawks on Oct. 30. Scott projects to receive 15-20 touches in that game, making him a must-stash in fantasy this week. Brian Leonard would chip in as a bit player on passing downs.

Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said Bernard Scott will continue to spell Cedric Benson for series at a time.
Scott came on for two series in Week 4, compiling five rushes for 13 yards and two catches for nine yards. We know what kind of breakout back he can be," Gruden said. "Bernard has done everything in training camp and preseason and last year to prove he's worthy of carrying the ball." Gruden's words confirm that Scott will be worthy of a RB2 play if/when Benson gets suspended.

The Cincinnati Enquirer confirms that Bernard Scott will be the starter during Cedric Benson's suspension.
Bengals coaches don't trust Scott to hold up under a heavy workload, but he did see an average of 18.7 touches per as a three-week fill-in for Benson back in 2009. Scott is the most explosive of the Bengals backs and should be an immediate waiver grab this week.

Bernard Scott rushed six times for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Panthers in his 2011 preseason debut.
As usual, Scott was far more explosive than starter Cedric Benson (16 carries, 68 yards). Scott should be locked in as the primary backup entering Week 1. We highlight the performance to note that all fantasy players should be started against a Panthers defense that has made Andy Dalton, Chad Henne, Reggie Bush, and the Bengals' backs look like stars the past two weeks.
