Wesley Matthews will start at shooting guard on Friday against the Bulls. Matthews hasn't started a game since February 16, but times are changing in Portland and Matthews will get another crack at a starting gig. Although he's disappointed owners this season, a move back to the starting lineup could do wonders for his production. In 30 games as a starter this season, Matthews is averaging 12.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.6 treys.

Wesley Matthews scored 15 points off the bench in the Blazers' 107-93 loss to the Heat on Thursday, hitting 4-of-6 shots from the field (including two threes) with seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 34 minutes. Matthews might have been dropped lately and lines like this show why he was owned in the first place. This line indicates that he should be owned more often than not in 12-team formats that reward 3-point shooting.

Wesley Matthews played through a sprained ankle and had 11 points and a 3-pointer off the bench on Wednesday. He hit just 4-of-11 shots, but played 28 minutes on a night when Nicolas Batum struggled. Matthews is a tough guy to put into fantasy lineups coming off the Blazers' bench, as Batum has hurt him badly. If you want to drop Matthews for a hot free agent, we can get on board.

Wesley Matthews sprained his right ankle in Tuesday's easy win over the Spurs. He went to the locker room and will not return in the blowout, and while it didn't look to bad, he was obviously in pain. The good news is that he'll get to rest from now until Wednesday, Feb. 29 when the Blazers play at Denver after the break.

When Nate McMillan told Wesley Matthews he'd lost his starting job to Nicolas Batum, McMillan said he felt Matthews had "lost his edge." Matthews bristled at the notion and isn't thrilled with his apparent demotion, but has vowed to stay professional and work harder than ever. He's shooting a career-low 41 percent from the field, a number that should only go up from here.

Wesley Matthews will start on Wednesday against the Warriors, as expected. Nate McMillan said that he thinks LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) is doubtful for Thursday's game, and he "hopes" that he can play Saturday, so Matthews has a couple of games to build off of Tuesday's solid outing. He came off the bench in that game, and it might not be the end of the world if he ended up there when Aldridge returns. Matthews should be owned in all 12-team formats for at least the next week and probably more.

Wesley Matthews wasn't injured, but was benched on Tuesday and replaced in the starting lineup by Nicolas Batum. Matthews' demotion didn't last long, as LaMarcus Aldridge went down with a sprained ankle. Matthews moved to shooting guard, sliding Batum over to small forward and Gerald Wallace to power forward, and played a whopping 37 minutes. Matthews had 15 points, five boards, two assists, a steal and three 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting. His demotion was terrible news for owners, but the loss of Aldridge should be an effective bandaid on his value. The demotion may not be permanent, but either way, hang onto Matthews until we find out how long Aldridge is going to be out.

Wesley Matthews scored four points on 2-of-6 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 31 minutes on Friday against the Hornets. Jamal Crawford exploded for 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting (9-of-10 from the foul line), so this quiet line is explainable, and coming off 17-point and 18-point outings we're alright giving him a small pass. Matthews is hitting 45.1 percent of his shots in February, but those that bought low still have a ways to go before calling it a success.

Wesley Matthews hit 6-of-9 shots from the field (including two threes) on Monday, scoring 18 points with three rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 36 minutes. Maybe the day off by Raymond Felton (foot, day-to-day) will help jumpstart Matthews, as Jamal Crawford played more beside him than behind him. Matthews has been mired in a shooting slump that he should probably bust out of, and while we backed off some of our buy low recommendations after the Blazers backcourt imploded on Thursday this would move the needle back in that direction a tad.
