Steve Nash (nerve irritation) will not play on Sunday.
Nash admitted that he probably shouldn't have played on Friday, when he dished out 11 assists in 19 minutes, and he should be considered day-to-day for the rest of the season. Kendall Marshall gets a boost with the 40-year-old Nash joining Jordan Farmar (groin) on the sidelines.

Steve Nash (nerve irritation) is a game-time decision to face the Magic on Sunday.
He received treatment on his back/hamstring nerve issue after admitting he tweaked something late in Friday's return. Nash was effective in his 19 minutes with 11 dimes in the loss to the Wizards, but the Lakers might want to hold him out of action since he is going to try and play next season. Kendall Marshall is still expected to start regardless of Nash's availability.

Steve Nash (nerve irritation) will play in Friday's game against the Wizards.
The Lakers originally shut Nash down so they could get a longer look at Kendall Marshall and Jordan Farmar. But now that Farmar is sidelined, they're desperate for point guard help. Nash is expected to come off the bench and we wouldn't expect more than 20 minutes or for him to sustain health.

Steve Nash (nerves) went through the non-contact portions of Thursday's practice, though it's still uncertain whether he'll play again this season.
A return seems doubtful at this point, but Nash is at least seeing how his body responds to the practice now that Jordan Farmar has been ruled out two weeks. He's shown no ability to maintain his health after shorts spurts of activity this season, and he doesn't belong on any fantasy rosters.

Steve Nash (nerve irritation) said he's working to stay in game shape and could potentially be available later this season.
To be clear, he is still very, very doubtful to play this year. The Lakers said Nash was going to be out for the season last week, so a return at any point this year would be a huge surprise. Fantasy owners can keep him on the waiver wire despite how the Lakers may have lost Jordan Farmar (groin) for the foreseeable future.

The Lakers have officially declared Steve Nash (nerve root irritation) out for the 2013-14 season.
This was all but a formality, but coach Mike D'Antoni officially stuck a fork in the former MVP's season on Thursday. Nash is due $9.7 million on September 1, so it will be interesting to see if the Lakers decide to keep the 40-year-old around or jettison him via the stretch provision. Regardless, any fantasy owners were holding out hope for a return this season can feel free to move on.

Steve Nash (nerve root irritation) wants to return next season.
The Lakers don't expect Nash to play again this season, but that's not stopping him from looking forward to next year. "I want to come back for sure," he said Monday. The Lakers have until September 1st to decide whether to release the former league MVP via the stretch provision or pay him $9.7 million. Regardless of what the Lakers decide over the summer, fantasy owners can feel free to move on from Nash this season.
