Long agreed to a contract Tuesday with the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian National Basketball League, Sportando.com reports.

After failing to earn a roster spot in training camp with the Rockets last fall, Long split time in the Chinese Basketball Association and the G League during the 2017-18 campaign. Long, who suited up for the Bulls' entry in the Las Vegas Summer League in July, will head back overseas and attempt to boost his stock in New Zealand with the hope of generating renewed interest from NBA teams.

Long added 22 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-13 FT), 12 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and one steal during Wednesday's 118-112 loss to Windy City.

The second year player from Louisiana-Lafayette had a highly effective game Wednesday, producing a double-double and filling a mark in each major statistical category. The 6-9 center is averaging a superb 15.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game this season, but has seen a considerable drop in free-throw percentage (62.8) from last season. As long as he can score from the field though, it's likely he can continue his scoring pace.

Long accounted for 31 points (11-18 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one block during Saturday's win at Westchester.

EDGE Analysis

The 25-year-old erupted for a season high in points while also posting his second straight double-double. Since Jan. 17, Long has put together a superb streak of games in which he is averaging 18.0 points and 8.6 rebounds. In addition, the Louisiana-Lafayette product has produced four double-doubles during that span.

Long was waived by the Rockets on Tuesday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Long was traded to the team in late June from the 76ers in exchange for cash and a 2018 second-round pick. He played 18 games in Philadelphia last year, posting 8.2 points and 4.7 rebounds across 13.0 minutes per game. Ultimately, however, the Rockets have opted to let Long go, as he seemingly didn't fit the team's plans. He could end up with another team for training camp due to his potential as a stretch-five. He drilled 36.8 percent of his three-point attempts in 2016-17.

It's unclear at the moment whether or not Houston intends to keep Long, as they've been making trades all Wednesday, manipulating their finances to acquire Chris Paul. However, considering Long has potential as a stretch five, he could fit the Rockets' floor-spacing gameplan nicely if they opt to hang onto him.

Long scored 18 points (8-11 FG, 2-4 FT) while adding six rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 141-118 loss to the Nets.

Five of his six boards came on the offensive glass, as the 24-year-old rookie continues make his mark in a limited role on the Sixers' second unit. Despite averaging only 17.5 minutes over the last eight games, Long is putting up 12.6 points, 5.3 boards, 0.8 steals and 0,8 three-pointers a night.

Long tallied 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt), four rebounds, one steal and one block across 22 minutes in a 122-105 loss to the Cavaliers on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

With the 76ers ruling out Jahlil Okafor (knee) for the season earlier Friday and coach Brett Brown inclined to lean on Tiago Splitter only as a lightly-used third-string option at center, Long looks poised to see decent minutes off the bench as the top backup to starting center Richaun Holmes, and a relief option for Dario Saric at power forward as well. The undrafted rookie probably won't see enough playing time the rest of the way to warrant universal fantasy ownership, but he's worthy of a roster spot in deeper leagues. He's averaging 12.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game over his last six contests while shooting 64.6 percent from the field.

Long accumulated 15 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal across 23 minutes during Sunday's 107-94 loss to the Pacers.

Long made the most of teammate Jahlil Okafor (knee) being sidelined, dominating the boards and scoring efficiently in limited minutes. Since joining the 76ers, the undrafted big man has averaged 7.3 points and 4.0 rebounds across 11.0 minutes per game -- the equivalent of 25.0 points and 13.7 rebounds per 36 minutes. He could be worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues, especially if he consistently begins to see 15 to 20 minutes per contest.

Long ended up with 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-3 FT) with seven rebounds, two steals and an assist across 19 minutes off the bench in Friday's 117-107 win against the Bulls.

EDGE Analysis

Long, an undrafted free agent, recently inked to a partially guaranteed multi-year contract with the team. The former standout at Louisiana-Lafayette has rewarded the team with 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game over his past two outings. He is speculative pick-up in deeper fantasy leagues, as the team is likely to give him plenty of minutes down the stretch.

Long is expected to sign a multi-year contract with the 76ers on Thursday, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Long's 10-day contract is set to expire Thursday, but rather than signing him to a second 10-day deal, the 76ers saw enough from the undrafted rookie to give him some longer-term security. His new deal is expected to be guaranteed for the remainder of the 2016-17 season, but will only be partially guaranteed thereafter. Despite the commitment, it's likely that Long will remain a fringe member of the team's rotation over the final month of the season, especially while centers Jahlil Okafor and Richaun Holmes remain healthy. Over his three appearances with the 76ers, Long has averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per contest.
