Ray Allen (ankle) is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's Game 1 matchup with the Hawks.
"He'll go over and do his routine early," said Doc Rivers, "[and] if he gets through his routine, which he hasn't been able to do the last two times he's tried to play, then he'll probably play." Avery Bradley will continue to start at SG either way, with support from Marquis Daniels.

Ray Allen (ankle) is now looking doubtful to play in Game 1 vs. the Hawks on Sunday.
Allen had another cortisone shot on Wednesday but he's still in pain, and said he would have surgery immediately if the playoffs weren't beginning. "Honestly I don't think he'll play [Sunday]," Doc Rivers said. "We'll find that out. He's just not moving well." Avery Bradley is suddenly critical to Boston's success, and Marquis Daniels will also need to step up.

Updating a previous item, Doc Rivers said that Ray Allen (ankle) has a 60 percent chance of playing on Sunday.
That is far less optimistic than the "probable" tag he was given, so we're going to call him questionable to play on Sunday against the Hawks. His ankle issue is clearly more of a concern than the team had been letting on, and it's concerning that he's still not right after so much time off.

Ray Allen (ankle) did not practice on Friday, but "may try" to do so on Saturday.
That doesn't exactly bode well for his "probable" status for Sunday's Game 1 against the Hawks, but the Celtics won't do anything to jeopardize his potential availability. If Allen can't play in the first game, Avery Bradley and Mickael Pietrus will both see an increase in minutes. Every other Celtic is expected to be available.

Ray Allen (ankle) will not play on Thursday against the Bucks.
Allen was considered doubtful, so no surprise that he's not playing. He was wearing practice gear at shootaround on Thursday, but he was in his running shoes. Allen will rest his ankle before the postseason, but his availability remains up in the air.

Ray Allen (ankle) is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Bucks.
At this point, nobody should be surprised. The Celtics need to get Allen healthy for the playoffs, but even that might not be a lock considering how troublesome his ankle has become. Avery Bradley is locked into a huge role at shooting guard for Boston.

Ray Allen (ankle) admitted that bone spurs were a part of the problem.
Doc Rivers previously called Allen's injury not of the serious variety, but he hasn't played since April 10 and has already been ruled out for Tuesday. "It's still being a little troublesome, but it's getting better," he said. Although Allen ran on it for the first time in a few days on Monday, it doesn't sound like he's closing in on a return. Avery Bradley will continue to see extended minutes at shooting guard.

Ray Allen (ankle) did not practice Monday and will not play in Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Allen was spotted in a walking boot last week and has sustained multiple aggravations on his right ankle. It makes sense to hold him out until the playoffs. Rajon Rondo (back) also missed practice, but he's questionable for Tuesday. Either way, red-hot Avery Bradley will continue to log heavy minutes. He's averaging 21.6 points on 60.3 percent shooting over his last five games.

Ray Allen (ankle), Rajon Rondo (back) and Mickael Pietrus (knee) are not traveling with the Celtics for Friday's game in Atlanta.
Allen's injury is especially concerning because he's sustained multiple aggravations and setbacks. Friday marks his seventh straight game missed and he also sat out six straight games with the same issue in late March. After Friday, the Celtics have just two games left in the regular season.

Ray Allen (ankle) and Mickael Pietrus (knee) are not expected to play in Friday's game against the Hawks.
Doc Rivers wasn't optimistic about either player's status after Wednesday's win, and owners shouldn't be relying on either player to take the court. With both players currently battling injuries, Avery Bradley, who has played at least 35 minutes in five straight games, will once again be locked into a major role.
