Ray Allen (ankle) returned to action in Friday's Game 3 win over the Hawks, scoring 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting (no threes) with six rebounds and two steals in 37 minutes.
Allen said after the game that his ankle was "on fire," and he'll get one day to rest it before Sunday's Game 4. Avery Bradley went down with a shoulder injury tonight, and that just puts an already thin Celtics squad in the cross-hairs at the shooting guard position. As for Allen's play, he was relatively effective tonight.

Ray Allen (ankle) is going through a full workout on Friday in hopes of returning for Boston's Game 3 against Atlanta.
The fact that Allen is going through a full set of warmups on Friday on the floor is a good sign that he is getting very close to a return. Doc Rivers has said he expects Allen to play, and as soon as we have official word on if he will be active, we will pass it along.

Ray Allen (ankle) is practicing on Friday but remains a game-time decision for Game 3 against the Hawks.
Allen hasn't played since April 10, but he went through a full 75 minute practice session on Thursday and was "optimistic" about his chances of playing in Game 3. His return would be a big boost for the Celtics as the team could really use his ability to hit the three-point shot. Mickael Pietrus will serve as the sixth man once again if Allen is unable to play.

"I do feel good today. I am definitely practicing," said Allen. "I'm excited about it." Allen's status for Game 3 remains uncertain, but the last time the veteran appeared in a game was April 10. If he's able to return, it would be a solid boost for Boston's postseason run.

Doc Rivers is still not sure if Ray Allen (ankle) will be able to play in Game 3.
"it's frustrating for Ray," Rivers said. "he's doing everything he can. It's a tough one." Allen's return date remains uncertain, and he could reportedly "barely walk" on Tuesday. There is a lot of speculation that Allen could be sidelined beyond the first round, but the Celtics continue to treat his status as day-to-day.

Ray Allen (ankle) has officially been ruled out for Game 2 vs. the Hawks, and his return date is uncertain.
As we stated earlier, the veteran sharp-shooter should be considered 'out indefinitely' until further notice -- Doc Rivers said that while Ray felt "great" on Monday, he could "barely walk" on Tuesday. There is growing speculation that he won't be able to return this season.

An article on CSNNE.com states of Ray Allen (ankle), "[his] status for the remainder of this season is uncertain."
The article features extensive interviews with Allen, and nowhere is it suggested that he could return soon -- Ray basically laments the loss of his routine and typical game-day schedule. He will need surgery after the playoffs, and part of the problem is bone spurs, so Celtics' fans should consider him 'out indefinitely' until we hear otherwise.

Coach Doc Rivers said Ray Allen (questionable, ankle) won't be rushed back even though Rajon Rondo is facing a Game 2 suspension.
Allen sat out 15 of the final 19 regular season games and the Game 1 loss to the Hawks. He got shots up at Monday's practice, but the team didn't sound optimistic. "He said he felt a little better, but I don't see it right now," Rivers said. The Celtics might be forced to start Keyon Dooling and Avery Bradley in the backcourt Tuesday.
