Neto has not played in either of the Cavaliers' last two games since Ricky Rubio returned from a knee injury.

Rubio made his season debut Thursday at Portland and was also active for Saturday night's loss to the Timberwolves. The veteran looks to have essentially usurped Neto's role in the rotation as the backup to Darius Garland. Even before Rubio's return, Neto wasn't commanding much fantasy attention, but at this point, he can safely be ignored in the vast majority of leagues.

Neto amassed 14 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, one block and one steal in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 90-88 win over the Suns.

EDGE Analysis

Neto posted a bench-leading scoring total en route to setting a season-high point total in 20-plus minutes of action. Neto's double-digit outing was the his second of the year, with the other being a 10-point performance Nov. 4 against Detroit. 

Neto posted five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one rebound and four assists in 14 minutes during Saturday's 110-102 victory over the Thunder.

EDGE Analysis

Neto played a relevant role again Saturday but failed to put up anything close to a viable fantasy line. With Donovan Mitchell (leg) sidelined, the Cavaliers are going to need Neto to soak up more of the backup playmaking minutes. With that said, Mitchell's injury does not sound serious, meaning Neto could find himself in a reduced role as soon as Monday against the Spurs.

Neto registered 10 points (3-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals across 24 minutes during Friday's 112-88 win over the Pistons.

EDGE Analysis

Neto was held out of Cleveland's last matchup Wednesday against the Celtics, but he managed to log a season-high in minutes Friday evening while also scoring in double figures for the first time in seven matchups. While Darius Garland is expected to shoulder a heavy workload on a nightly basis, Neto will add a veteran presence to the Cavalier's backcourt when needed.

Neto (ankle) is available for Friday's matchup against the Pistons, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

EDGE Analysis

Neto was sidelined for Wednesday's win over Boston due to an ankle injury and was listed as questionable for Friday. However, he's been cleared to play and may see an increased role with Donovan Mitchell (ankle) and Darius Garland (knee) both sidelined. Across his first six appearances, Neto has averaged 3.2 points, 1.3 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game.

Neto (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Pistons, Evan Dammarell of SBNation.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Neto also missed Wednesday's game against Boston with a right ankle sprain. If Darius Garland (knee) and Donovan Mitchell (ankle) also don't play, Caris LeVert and Isaac Okoro should see extended minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff notes that during Neto's absence, Cedi Osman, Caris LeVert, Donovan Mitchell, and even Evan Mobley could soak up backup point guard duties. Osman seeing extra touches would be the most actionable scenario for fantasy managers.

Neto isn't expected to suit up Wednesday against the Celtics due to a right ankle sprain.

EDGE Analysis

Neto has played a small role with the Cavs early in the 2022-23 season, slotting in behind Darius Garland (eye) and Donovan Mitchell on the ball. With the pair presumably getting most of the minutes on the ball when healthy, Neto's upside remains limited even when available. If he sits out Wednesday as expected, his next chance to return arrives Friday versus the Pistons.

Neto finished Wednesday's 103-92 win over the Magic with seven points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT) over 14 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Neto hasn't logged more than 15 minutes in a game through the first four matchups, including three where starting point guard Darius Garland was sidelined. Donovan Mitchell has taken over as the primary ballhandler in those contests, with Isaac Okoro and Dean Wade each receiving at least a start. Neto's upside remains limited as long as one of Garland or Mitchell is available.

Neto is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener versus the Raptors.

EDGE Analysis

Neto started and played 23 minutes in last Friday's preseason finale. However, this was likely only the case because Darius Garland was resting. Neto should assume backup point guard duties this season.
