Patrick Patterson came off the bench on Tuesday, but saw some extra minutes due to a facial laceration for starter Jason Thompson that required stitches. Patterson finished with 13 points, five boards and a 3-pointer on 6-of-10 shooting in 26 minutes, and could be officially locked into a timeshare with Thompson, even when Thompson is fully healthy. But as long as both DeMarcus Cousins and Thompson are in the lineup, Patterson will be a fantasy gamble from night to night.

Patrick Patterson had a big game vs. the Lakers, scoring 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting, with two 3-pointers and five rebounds in 36 minutes. This was easily Patterson's best game with the Kings, though it's hard to get excited since he did it with DeMarcus Cousins (thigh) on the sidelines and Jason Thompson (four points, seven boards) at center. Consider him a viable short-term option for as long as DMC is out.

Patterson could continue to start if DeMarcus Cousins (thigh) has to miss more time, and he had 14 points, nine boards and a steal in just 20 minutes during Wednesday's blowout win over Chicago.

Patterson played 23.6 minutes per game in his previous three and with a 26 minute-per-game allotment, he would be worth a look in standards. DeMarcus Cousins could miss more time, so he'll be worth a look in deeper leagues. Jason Thompson (12 points, three boards, one assist and one block in 26 minutes) and Chuck Hayes (10 points and eight boards in 26 minutes) also stepped up with DMC out.

DMC didn't play at all in the second or fourth quarter tonight, as Keith Smart liked what he was seeing from the hot Patterson. Tonight's line is what we were expecting from Patterson earlier in the season when he was with the Rockets, but Cousins isn't going to be benched again on Friday against the Suns, so don't expect Patterson to do this very often, especially with Jason Thompson playing so well.

Likewise, we doubt Patterson starts doing this on a regular basis, so just keep an eye on him.

Patrick Patterson, Toney Douglas and Cole Aldrich will not play against in Friday's game in Atlanta. The team doctors won't be traveling with the Kings, so the physicals from the trade will keep Patterson, Douglas and Aldrich in California. Jason Thompson will get plenty of minutes at power forward against the Hawks and shouldn't be hurt by the acquisition of Patterson.

Patrick Patterson has been traded to the Kings, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Patterson was a good system fit with the Rockets as a four that can stretch the court with their up-tempo pace. It's a fool's errand to try and think about how Keith Smart will use Patterson, but Jason Thompson has been better lately and Patterson may project as an option off the bench. He may have lost an iota of value in this deal.
