Patterson will get the start at power forward Tuesday and Wednesday as the Raptors continue to hold out Amir Johnson (ankle), TSN 1050's Josh Lewenberg reports. Patterson picked up three fouls in 15 minutes in his start Sunday, and failed to score, so there's a risk in starting him. However, in the past he has shown enough upside to be worth a look in daily leagues, particularly tournaments.

Patterson got the start at power forward Sunday in place of the injured Amir Johnson (ankle), and failed to score a point or record a rebound in 15 minutes of action. To say that was an unacceptable result in a game the Raptors lost by five points would be a massive understatement. There's no timetable yet on Johnson's return, but if he does miss more action it wouldn't be surprising to see coach Dwane Casey return Patterson to the bench and try Tyler Hansbrough (who played 24 minutes Sunday) in the starting lineup instead.

Patterson (hand) played 21 minutes off the bench Friday, scoring 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3P) with seven rebounds. The Raptors' stretch four will fill a big role on their second unit, but his minutes and fantasy value will be somewhat limited unless starter Amir Johnson misses some time.

Patterson (hand) will dress for Friday's game against the Celtics. Patterson was held out of Tuesday's preseason game against the Kings because of a sore hand, but practiced fully Thursday and is back on the bench Friday. He should see some time off the bench in the game assuming he is truly healthy.

Patterson (hand) practiced in full Thursday and is on track to return Friday against Boston, Josh Lewenberg of TSNreports. A sore hand kept Patterson out of Tuesday's preseason game against Sacramento. As anticipated, the injury looks to be nothing serious, so expect to see him back on the court Friday. Patterson will again be one of the first forwards off the bench for Toronto this season.

Patterson (hand) will miss Tuesday's preseason contest against the Kings, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports. Patterson is still dealing with a sore right hand, and he'll sit out Tuesday as a precaution. The injury does not appear to be anything serious, and Patterson should be considered questionable for Friday's matchup with the Celtics.

Patterson (hand) will miss the Raptors preseason opener Sunday against Sacramento, the Toronto Star's Doug Smith reports. Patterson is apparently dealing with a sore right hand, and he'll be held out of action Sunday, likely as a precaution. The forward will likely hold down a similar role to last season, when he appeared in 48 games (seven starts), averaging 23.3 minutes per game.

Patrick Patterson has signed a 3-year, $18 million deal with the Raptors. Patterson is a solid backup for Toronto, and he had a great stretch last season when Amir Johnson went down with an ankle injury. The signing leaves Toronto with about $7.5 million to spend while remaining under the cap, and they still have yet to retain backup point guard Greivis Vasquez. Two-Pat is a solid signing for the Raptors, but playing behind Amir Johnson and Jonas Valaciunas significantly hinders his fantasy appeal.

The Raptors have made a qualifying offer to Patrick Patterson to make him a restricted free agent. Two-Pat helped himself last year while Amir Johnson was out with an ankle injury, but he did slow down with some struggles in the mid-range game. Patterson is probably going to stay put in Toronto and is not worth owning in most fantasy leagues while Jonas Valanciunas and Johnson are healthy.

The Raptors can make Patrick Patterson a restricted free agent this summer by making him a $4.3 million qualifying offer. It should be an easy decision for the Raptors to retain one of their most valuable bench pieces. Showing an ability to score in bunches when needed, Patterson averaged 9.1 points and 51. rebounds on 47.7 percent shooting during the regular season. He's also been solid through two playoff games at 10.5 points and 7.0 boards. The problem for his fantasy upside is that the Raptors project to retain Amir Johnson at $7 million guaranteed for the 2014-15 season.
