It was not only Patterson's best game of the season, it was only the third time he's even scored in double digits. He had just 15 total points in the four games prior to Sunday, so he'll need to show a lot more consistency before he's worth even considering for a roster spot on your fantasy team.

Patterson has now seen 30 or more minutes in two of the past three games after failing to reach that mark during the first 20 games of the season. Patterson posted season-highs in minutes and steals on Wednesday, and could be in line to see similarly decent minute loads in the short-term with Jonas Valanciunas (hand) and DeMarre Carroll (knee) sidelined.

Patterson scored six points (2-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt) and grabbed seven rebounds, one steal, and one block over 23 minutes in Wednesday's 96-86 win over the Hawks.

EDGE Analysis

Though Luis Scola continues to start at power forward, Patterson has seen a minor uptick in playing time over the last handful of games while coach Dwane Casey has experimented with more small-ball lineups. Patterson's ability to knock down shots from deep should continue to result in a rather even split in playing time between him and Scola, which unfortunately works to limit the overall fantasy upside of both players.

Patterson has failed to score in double figures in nine of his last ten games.

EDGE Analysis

Patterson has been getting solid minutes off the bench, as he is averaging 20 per game on the season and is splitting time with Luis Scola, but the power forward simply isn't being productive enough offensively to have much fantasy relevance. Patterson currently boasts averages of just 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game through 11 outings this year.

Patterson scored 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-5 3Pt) with three rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench during Sunday's win over the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

After struggling in the preseason and losing the starting power forward spot to Luis Scola, Patterson has looked great as a stretch four on the Raptors second unit to begin the regular season, going 8-for-15 from beyond the arc. His minutes and upside are limited in that role, but if he continues playing well he could supplant Scola in the starting lineup.

Patterson played 19 minutes off the bench Wednesday, scoring eight points with four rebounds, two three-pointers, an assist and a steal.

EDGE Analysis

He split court time roughly equally with Luis Scola at power forward but put up a better stat line, and if that trend continues Patterson could work his way into the starting five. He has a little fantasy upside as a stretch four if he can get consistent minutes, but at the moment there's no reason to have Patterson on your roster.

Patterson was outshined on this particular night by his primary competition for the power forward role, Luis Scola, but remains atop the depth chart for now. The 26-year-old has previously provided offensive production commensurate for the fourth option that he typically is in the Raptors' offense, and would figure to have the inside track on the top role entering the regular season.

Patterson has started at power forward in all three of the Raptors' preseason games and is averaging eight points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 18.7 minutes per game.

EDGE Analysis

It looks like the offseason departure of Amir Johnson will pave the way for Patterson to serve as the Raptors' starting power forward this season, at least initially. Lucas Scola, James Johnson, and Bismack Biyombo are the top candidates to see minutes behind Patterson, but the 26-year-old's ability to knock down three-pointers at a respectable clip will give the Raptors their most versatile lineup. Though it's difficult to see Patterson serving as much more than a third or fourth option offensively when he's on the court, the expected uptick in playing time that he'll receive may be enough for him to finish will career-highs this season in multiple categories.

Patterson posted averages of 8.0 points (45% FG, 37% 3Pt, 79% FT), 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 27 minutes per game during 81 regular season games. In four playoff games versus the Wizards, the stretch power forward produced 10.3 points (56% FG, 47% 3Pt, 100% FT), 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals in 27 minutes per game. Fellow forwards Amir Johnson and Tyler Hansbrough are both set to become unrestricted free agents this summer, so it's certainly possible Patterson will enter 2015-16 with an increased role.
