Marreese Speights scored a season-high 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting with nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals over 37 minutes in the Grizzlies' 98-92 win over the Pacers on Friday. Speights had six points and 15 boards on Wednesday, and with no real chance for long-term value with Zach Randolph on schedule in his rehab there's not a lot to get excited about. We've said here that Speights needed to produce like this for a week before we trusted him, and he's about halfway there.

Marreese Speights hit just 2-of-9 shots for six points, but also tied a season high with 15 boards and a steal in Wednesday's loss. Speights has been a mess since going to Memphis and is averaging just four points and less than five boards over his last five, despite tonight's big line. Maybe he'll suddenly get it going after this one, but he's in a timeshare with Dante Cunningham (12 & 7), and neither player is a great fantasy option, even though Zach Randolph remains out with his knee injury.

Marreese Speights will start at power forward on Friday against the Thunder. Speights has been awful and he could be replaced in the starting lineup at any time. Dante Cunningham has played much better and is the better fantasy play between the two, but is only worth watching in deeper formats right now.

Marreese Speights played just 15 minutes and was benched for his effort on at least one occasion, finishing with two points on 1-of-5 shooting, two rebounds, and a block. Speights got caught jogging on a play and got an earful from Lionel Hollins, and just doesn't have what it takes to hack it for the Grizzlies (and maybe the NBA). Unless you're in a very deep format, drop him for a hot free agent.

Marreese Speights had eight points, five rebounds and a block in 18 minutes on Saturday. He was in some foul trouble, while Dante Cunningham came off the bench for six points, 10 rebounds and five fouls in 24 minutes. Speights has been in double figures in scoring just once in his last seven games, and has hit double figures in rebounding just two times all season. He's just not getting it done and the fact he's losing minutes to Cunningham isn't a good sign. If you want to drop him, do it.

Marreese Speights played just eight minutes before being benched for the second half of Thursday's game. Speights scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting with four rebounds and one turnover, but committed three personal fouls and is generally clueless on the court. He has all of the opportunity to play because the Grizzlies need him up front, but in fantasy leagues he should be dropped because Speights just isn't that good.

Marreese Speights backed up his double-double from Saturday with a clunker on Monday, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting with four rebounds, one steal, and one assist in 24 minutes. We've covered Speights' inconsistency in depth here, so owners in 12-14 team formats are only looking at Speights if they're desperate for a forward.

Marreese Speights finished Saturday's game with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Speights rarely contributes steals or blocks and was averaging just 5.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the past two games. The Grizzlies had their way with the Kings on Saturday and wound up scoring 128 points, one shy of the highest total in an NBA game this season.

Marreese Speights scored six points on 3-of-8 shooting with five rebounds and no steals or blocks in 22 minutes on Friday. We've said it a bunch, but here it is again -- Speights is not a consistent player so owners shouldn't expect consistent results. The opportunity for him to learn and grow in the role is there, but it's anybody's guess if he'll walk through that door. For now, owners should feel fine dropping him for a hot free agent in 12-team formats.

Marreese Speights backed up Monday's big line with just four points and eight rebounds on 2-of-7 shooting Wednesday. Mike Conley and Marc Gasol were feeling it tonight, leaving guys like Speights and Rudy Gay (12 points, 5-of-11 shooting) in the cold. Speights is still worth holding in most leagues after Monday's big line, but owners should get used to inconsistency from the big man as he learns the ropes in Memphis.
