Marreese Speights scored a season-high 25 points in the Grizzlies' double-overtime loss on Tuesday, hitting 12-of-20 shots with seven rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block in 49 minutes. With Zach Randolph (knee) returning soon this is Speights' swan song, and if you can find anybody that's not paying attention then go ahead and try to swing a deal. Otherwise, ride him until the wheels fall off.

Add in the fact that he's been highly inconsistent, and it's about time to make alternate plans if you own Speights. It's performances like this that drove Speights into Doug Collins' doghouse in Philadelphia. He turned it over four times, shot 1-of-5 from the field and failed to get to the foul line. Speights' natural talent and starting role will yield some big games, but wild inconsistency is a guarantee. As soon as Zach Randolph (knee) returns, Speights will struggle for relevance.

Better late than never, and though the lack of steals and blocks is a bummer he has been producing so all is well. He's worth starting consideration in most formats while he's hot.

Marreese Speights stayed hot during Saturday's razor-thin win vs. the Warriors, finishing with 16 points points and eight rebounds. Speights only played 24 minutes, but narrowly missed his third consecutive double-double. He's been blocking shots lately (none on Saturday) and owners should ride him while he's producing, with the knowledge that it can (and likely will) dry up without warning. The return of Zach Randolph, of course, looms as an existential threat to his fantasy value.

Coach Lionel Hollins preached consistency when asked about Marreese Speights Wednesday night. Speights went off for 20 points and 18 boards in 38 minutes on Wednesday. "He's just 24 years old. He just can't come out the next game, and give us four (points) and one (rebound)," Hollins said. Over the last five games, Speights is averaging 12.0 points and 11.6 boards while playing 32.2 minutes per night. He's earning some leash until Zach Randolph (knee) returns in early March.

Marreese Speights had a pair of season-highs on Wednesday night, posting 20 points and 18 rebounds in the Grizzlies victory of the Nets. Speights has been heating up as of late, and unless you are stacked at the power forward position, he could be worth a short-term add in 12-team leagues or larger. Keep in mind tonight's performance came against the lowly Nets, and Zach Randolph is scheduled to return in a few weeks, but you certainly could do worse than Speights at this point.

Speights was coming off a nice 19-point, nine-rebound effort on Friday, and it's not often he puts together two consecutive solid games. The league leaders in offensive rebounds are DeMarcus Cousins (4.4), Anderson Varejao (4.4), Kevin Love (4.1) and Greg Monroe (3.9).
