Smart will get the start at point guard Friday versus Brooklyn. Since the Rajon Rondo trade, the Celtics have tried three different options at point guard in Smart, Evan Turner and Jameer Nelson. The rookie, who started Sunday's loss to the Heat, will notch his second start of the season, pushing Tuesday's starter, Nelson, to the bench. While Smart has struggled to score in his last three contests, he did post a 23-point, five-assist, four-rebound line earlier in the month, so he has some upside when given substantial minutes.

Smart played only 17 minutes and took zero shot attempts during Tuesday night's loss in Orlando. Smart is still clearly slowed down by the ankle and achilles injuries that had him miss ten games. Many expected Smart to play big minutes now that Rajon Rondo is in Dallas. That should still be the case, but in good time. First Smart needs to feel 100% healthy. In the meantime, the Celtics will showcase newly arrived Jameer Nelson for the upcoming February trade deadline.

Smart will come off the bench Tuesday against the Magic. Newcomer Jameer Nelson will replace Smart in the starting lineup Tuesday after Smart scored just three points as the starting point guard Sunday. The rookie is still very much in the flier category, even after the Rajon Rondo trade. Nelson is more equipped to run an NBA team at the moment, so it will be up to Smart to earn added playing time.

Smart scored just three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 FT) in his first start of the season with Rajon Rondo out of the Celtics. He added four rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 28 minutes of action Sunday against the Heat. Smart certainly didn't perform to the hype of the hour with a three-point outing. Still, with Rajon Rondo out of the picture, Smart should continue to be the man at the helm, which means his fantasy outlook can only get better moving forward. On the bright side, he did contribute four rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Smart will get the start at point guard Sunday against the Heat. With Rajon Rondo no longer in the picture, coach Brad Stevens will shake up the lineup, giving Smart his first NBA start. The rookie will join Avery Bradley in the backcourt, with Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Tyler Zeller comprising the froncourt. After missing a pair of games with an Achilles injury, Smart had eight points and four assists in 27 minutes against the wolves on Friday.

Smart (Achilles) had eight points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt) with four assists in 27 minutes in the win over Minnesota on Friday. Smart missed the two previous games, but appears to be ready to take a bigger role for the Celtics after they traded Rajon Rondo. He hasn't shown much ability to hit jumpers, but could be a good player to add for assists and steals.

Smart (achilles) will be available for the Celtics on Friday, the Celtics' official site reports. While Smart will play Friday against the Timberwolves, Evan Turner will receive the start at point guard. He should be good to go, and it wouldn't be surprising if he receives a minutes increase moving forward after the departure of Rajon Rondo.

Smart (Achilles) is expected to take part in practice Thursday. Smart, who removed himself from Tuesday's practice after experiencing discomfort in his Achilles, did not play Wednesday, but he could return for Friday's game if he goes through Thursday's session without a hitch.

Smart (achilles) will not play Wednesday against the Magic. Smart suffered the achilles strain Friday against Knicks, and will miss his second straight game because of the ailment. His next chance to return will come Friday against the Timberwolves.

Smart (Achilles) removed himself from Tuesday's practice and is unlikely to play Wednesday, Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald reports. Smart missed Monday's game with an Achilles strain and attempted to practice Tuesday before succumbing to discomfort. At this point, it seems extremely unlikely he plays Wednesday against the Magic.
