Smart collected 11 points (4-15 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 103-100 loss to the Bucks.
EDGE Analysis
Although the shooting percentage Wednesday night was atrocious and it wasn't his best game dishing the rock, Smart had an unbelievable game on the boards, grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds with five of those coming on offense. Smart was the only bench player to earn significant time Wednesday as the Celtics stuck mostly with a six-player rotation, but even with the plethora of minutes, he remains a mediocre fantasy option at best due to his lack of ability to shoot efficiently and collect boards like he did Wednesday.

Smart is expected to return to a bench role for Monday's game against the Wizards, Chris Forsberg of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart picked up two consecutive starts in place of the injured Isaiah Thomas (knee), but with Thomas back to full strength and reclaiming the starting point guard role, Smart will head back to the bench. After logging 35 minutes Sunday against the 76ers, Smart should see his playing time drop into the upper 20's, although he'll still provide some value as one of the team's top bench options despite the demotion to the second unit.

Smart posted eight points (3-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, six rebounds and two steals from 35 minutes in Sunday's 105-99 loss at Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday marked Smart's second straight start due to Isaiah Thomas' (knee) absence. Unfortunately, Smart's shooting woes continued. He's now shooting 32 percent over 10 games in March. For these past two starts, he's shot six for 26. Thomas is hoping to return Monday, meaning Smart will probably return to the bench and play roughly 25-29 minutes versus Washington.

Smart totaled 12 points (3-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five assists, three rebounds and three steals across 29 minutes during a 98-95 win over the Nets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Smart got the start with Isaiah Thomas (knee) sidelined and had a decent all-around line other than the terrible field goal percentage. Thomas has also been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Wizards, so Smart will be looking at another start in that one. Even as a starter, Smart is risky to own, as he's shooting 29.8 percent from the field over the last five games.

Coach Brad Stevens confirmed that Smart would start at point guard Friday against the Nets and Sunday against the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
Smart was always considered the most likely candidate to enter the starting five after the Celtics announced Thursday that All-Star Isaiah Thomas (knee) would miss the next two contests, so Stevens' comments don't come as much of a surprise. While Smart won't be in store for a significant bump in playing time with the move to the starting five, he's turned in superior production on the top unit compared to when he's come off the bench this season, so he'll gain some fantasy value in the short term. In his 22 starts on the season, Smart is averaging 12.1 points (on 40.4% shooting from the field), 4.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.3 three-pointers in 34.3 minutes per contest.

Smart could see a slight increase in minutes Friday and Sunday with news that Isaiah Thomas will be out those two games.
EDGE Analysis
Smart has averaged 27 minutes per game over his past five matches, so the playing time increase won't be drastic. Smart and Terry Rozier will both see more time on the floor. The Thomas injury comes at a good time for the Celtics, as Boston faces the win-challenged Nets and Sixers.

Smart supplied 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 27 minutes during Sunday's 100-80 win over the Celtics.
EDGE Analysis
Smart had gone five-of-22 from the field over the last two games, but he rebounded with a solid showing in Sunday's blowout win. Smart has failed to reach double figures in scoring during three of seven March contests, this after posting at least 10 points in 10 of 12 February matchups. Avery Bradley's return from an Achilles injury has resulted in Smart's minutes falling back below 30 per night in March, but the backup guard is still a fairly reliable contributor in most fantasy leagues.

Smart eked out five points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three assists, three rebounds and one steal from 25 minutes in Wednesday's 99-86 win at Golden State.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday was a classic example of Smart's value being much higher in real ball versus fantasy. Smart's tough defense helped hold Golden State to their lowest scoring total of the season. But, unfortunately, he continues to shoot only 37 percent from the field. Despite shooting one for eight, Smart still had a plus-8 plus-minus score in Wednesday's win.

Smart posted 21 points (6-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT) with three rebounds, three assists and a steal across 32 minutes in Monday's 116-102 loss against the Clippers.
EDGE Analysis
Smart continues to play 28-32 minutes despite the fact Avery Bradley is back healthy again and he has to contend with Jaylen Brown for playing time, too. He remains a viable option in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

Smart supplied 19 points (6-15 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, and four assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 107-97 loss to the Raptors.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Brad Stevens opted to start Jaylen Brown over Marcus smart at the shooting guard slot, but Smart played four more minutes than Brown and dropped 19 points despite only hitting one of his seven three-point attempts. While he has shown flashes of potential when given the opportunities, Smart's minutes and fantasy value will likely take a significant hit once Avery Bradley (Achilles) returns from his injury, which is currently scheduled for Sunday against the Trail Blazers.
