Nance will visit a hand specialist Saturday after re-injuring his left thumb, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Nance has been playing with his left thumb wrapped for the last few weeks and aggravated the injury during Thursday's loss to the Heat. The 26-year-old should be considered questionable for Sunday's game against the 76ers until the team indicates otherwise.

Nance tallied nine points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, three steals and one assist in 26 minutes Sunday in the Cavaliers' 108-87 win over the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

Nance has shown the ability to deliver useful contributions in rebounds, steals and assists when handed 25-plus minutes in the past, but it's going to be tough to him to rely on him reaching that playing-time threshold most nights while Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are healthy. Both frontcourt starters had off nights Sunday compared to how they've played on the whole this season, so don't expect coach John Beilein to limit them as a result anytime soon.

Nance produced 15 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 119-113 loss to the Celtics.

EDGE Analysis

Nance was scalding hot, finishing with as many points as minutes. With starting center Tristan Thompson seeing 37 minutes and starting power forward Kevin Love playing 32, there wasn't a ton of time left over for Nance, though the Cavaliers did opt for some smaller lineups at certain stages. With that being said, Nance managed a solid line, especially given his limited minutes.

Nance produced just five points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 131-111 loss to Dallas.

EDGE Analysis

Nance played 27 minutes off the bench Sunday but had very little impact in both fantasy and reality. The playing time is fine but he is not taking advantage of the opportunities. He certainly has the upside to be a top-100 player but is not playing at that level right now. If your waiver wire is dry, Nance is worth holding for a little while longer. However, if there is a hot free-agent available, no one would blame you for moving on.

EDGE Analysis

Nance remained on the bench Wednesday, scoring 12 points in 30 minutes. The production was a little underwhelming, however, the fact he played 30 minutes odes well for his overall value moving forward. In 30 minutes per night, Nance should be able to flirt with top-100 value making him a hold in standard leagues.

Nance compiled nine points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, and one block in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 94-85 loss to the Magic.

EDGE Analysis

Nance fell one point shy of a double-double while finishing with more field goal attempts than points and twice as many turnovers (four) as assists. Nance averaged a career-best 3.2 dimes versus just 1.4 turnovers in 2018-19, so he'll look to get back on track in the dime department during Saturday's matchup with the Pacers.

Nance compiled just six points but added 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 29 minutes during Friday's 109-105 preseason loss to Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

Nance had another decent all-around game Friday despite the lack of scoring. Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the preseason so far is the playing time. He has always been a great per-minute guy with the lack of court time being the only real issue. It would appear he is going to be coming off the bench but 28 minutes plus seems reasonable. In that allotment of time, Nance should be able to return top-80 value.

Nance totaled 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 20 minutes during Monday's 120-89 preseason victory over San Lorenzo.

EDGE Analysis

Nance played 20 minutes off the bench but was very impressive during that time. It would appear as though he is going to be the first big off the bench with Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love starting. That being said, Nance can play both the four and the five and so should be able to work his way to upwards of 26 minutes per night. He has been working on his outside shooting during the offseason and if he can add that facet to his game, he could be in for a very nice season.

Nance didn't practice Tuesday due to illness, Spencer Davies of BBall Insiders reports.

Nance is being considered day-to-day by the Cavs, and he figures to be available to play in the team's first preseason contest Oct. 11 in Detroit.

At media day Monday, Nance said he took roughly 20,000 three-pointers over the summer as he prepares to spend more time on the perimeter under new coach John Beilein. A year ago, Nance took a career-high (by far) 98 three-pointers, but given Monday's comments, it appears he's prepared to top that number -- and perhaps by a significant margin. For his career, Nance is a 29.5 percent shooter from beyond the arc, but he hit at nearly a 34 percent clip in 2018-19.
