Nance finished in double figures for the third time in the last five games, and he managed to add value elsewhere along his final line. His scoring production isn't always flashy (9.1 ppg on the season), but his prowess on the boards is valuable to fantasy owners looking for fast rebounding help.

Nance played 33 minutes and finished with eight points (3-12 FG, 2-3 3PT), 14 rebounds, two assists and one block Wednesday in the Cavaliers' 148-139 triple-overtime loss to the Nets.

Despite riding a six-game double-double streak heading into the contest, Nance was curiously moved to the bench Wednesday in favor of Ante Zizic. The two big men both cleared the 30-minute mark, but poor shooting from the field prevented Nance from extending his double-double streak. Nance has done enough of late to warrant holding in just about every format, but his role could be in flux coming out of the All-Star break with Zizic and Kevin Love healthy again and Tristan Thompson (foot) also potentially returning soon from a long-term absence.

Nance has now notched a double-double in every game to start the month of February, and his streak has now reached six straight contests. He's averaging 12.0 points, 13.3. rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals over his previous five matchups, and although his scoring totals typically aren't eye-popping, he remains a reliable source of both points and rebounds in most league formats.

Nance will start alongside Kevin Love (toe) for Friday's matchup against the Wizards, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.

Nance has played the role of a reserve over the past five games, but he'll return to the starting lineup to make up the Cavs' frontcourt with Kevin Love. As a starter, putting aside one game where he played just five minutes due to injury, Nance is averaging 10.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals across 31.4 minutes.

Nance notched his first double-double of January and proved effective from the field by knocking down 75.0 percent of his attempts. The Wyoming product was held scoreless in Sunday's victory over the Bulls through 17 minutes of action, so it was a positive sign to see him get back into the scoring column. Despite a decent outing, Nance simply hasn't been a reliable contributor this season.

Nance failed to score, adding five rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 victory over Chicago.

EDGE Analysis

Nance played just 17 minutes off the bench Sunday, missing all four of his shot attempts. Owners simply have to hope that this is all part of his integration back into the lineup after missing multiple games with a knee injury. He has shown that he is arguably the Cavaliers best fantasy player and will hopefully start to trend in the right direction over the next few games.

Nance worked as the second-unit center in his return from an eight-game absence due to an MCL sprain, with starter Ante Zizic (27 minutes) instead garnering the majority of the minutes at the position. While it's possible coach Larry Drew wanted to limit Nance's workload a bit coming off injury, the 26-year-old isn't a lock to immediately recapture a 30-plus-minute role, even with fellow big men Tristan Thompson (foot) and Kevin Love (toe) both sidelined for the foreseeable future. The Cavaliers seem to have liked what they've seen recently from Zizic, who is averaging 13.9 points and 7.3 rebounds in 26.0 minutes per game over his last nine outings while shooting 60.5 percent from the floor and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Nance (knee) return to action in a reserve role in Friday's game against the Heat, Spencer Davies Basketball Insiders reports.

EDGE Analysis

Given his lengthy absence and reserve role, Nance will presumably be on some type of minute restriction Friday. Barring any setbacks, he figures to see backup center minutes behind Ante Zizik as he works his way back into the swing of things.
