The 29-year-old forward led the Wizards to their first win since Jan. 1 with a season-best scoring effort, topping the 30 points he piled up last week in Phoenix. Kuzma's five made threes also tied his season best. Kuzma has had a rough campaign overall, but he's showing signs of breaking out with the trade deadline looming -- he's provided 20-plus points in three of the last nine games, averaging 17.1 points, 7.4 boards, 2.7 assists and 2.0 threes during that span.

Kuzma posted 19 points (7-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 10 rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 106-82 loss to the Raptors.

EDGE Analysis

After a paltry seven-point outing Monday, the veteran forward regained his form with an efficient double-double in Wednesday's clash with the Raptors. It was his third double-double of what's been a disappointing season thus far. For reference, he had recorded seven double-doubles at this point last season and went into the All-Star break averaging 21.8 points and 6.3 boards, up from 14.3 and 5.7 this year. He'll look to keep building on Wednesday's outing against the Lakers on Thursday.

Kuzma finished Monday's 130-108 loss to Dallas with seven points (3-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 21 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Kuzma had just scored 30 points in his previous outing against the Suns, only to post yet another dud. Needless to say, January has been a month to forget for the forward. In his last 15 appearances, Kuzma shot 41.7 percent from the field and 28.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Kuzma posted his second double-double of the season in the loss, but the seventh-year pro's 2024-25 results have largely been a disappointment. His current seasonal averages are well below normal, with a 7.6 PPG decrease in scoring from last season being the most glaring example. It's unclear if the Wizards will make any big moves before the trade deadline, but Kuzma is one of several players mentioned as potential trade options.
