The Nets waived Josh Childress on Saturday, at his request. Childress was crowded out of the rotation by Joe Johnson, Keith Bogans, Jerry Stackhouse and MarShon Brooks, and he'll seek a larger role somewhere else.

Josh Childress' sore foot is no longer an issue, but he's inactive for the Nets on Sunday. MarShon Brooks has chipped his way back into the rotation, and with Jerry Stackhouse healthy there's no upside for Childress at the moment.

Josh Childress returned to action on Wednesday December 19.
