The Wizards plan to convert Goodwin's two-way contract into a standard NBA deal Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Despite being on a two-way deal, Goodwin emerged as a rotational piece for Washington earlier this season and is averaging 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in 18.1 minutes per game across 40 appearances with the NBA team. With the Wizards backcourt having returned to full strength of late, Goodwin has fallen out of the rotation, appearing in just five of the team's past 14 contests. However, Washington no longer needs to worry about exceeding the 50-game limit at the NBA level that comes with players on a two-way deal, so Goodwin could start to see more playing time again behind the likes of Monte Morris, Delon Wright and Kendrick Nunn.

Goodwin posted 18 points (8-20 FG, 2-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 36 minutes in Wednesday's win over Maine.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin struggled badly from the field and ended up with more field goal attempts than points scored, but he still delivered a decent stat line as the Go-Go came away with the victory. One of seven players that scored in double digits for Capital City in this contest, Goodwin is averaging 19.3 points per game in the regular season.

Goodwin notched 23 points (9-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3FT), seven rebounds, six assists and two steals across 34 minutes in Sunday's loss to Long Island.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin was efficient from the field and posted solid numbers in other categories, but unfortunately his efforts were not enough to carry the Go-Go to victory. Goodwin was the only player who ended up with more than 15 points in this contest, and he has reached that mark in each of his three regular-season appearances with Capital City.

Goodwin delivered 20 points (5-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes in Sunday's 111-107 loss to the Charge.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin was not efficient from the field, as evidenced by the fact that he needed 15 shots to score 20 points, but he still contributed enough in other categories to end up with a decent outing in a tight loss for Capital City. Goodwin has spent time with the Wizards and this was his first game in the G League during the regular season, so expect him to be one of Capital City's go-to players as long as he remains in this level.

Goodwin will come off the bench for Monday's matchup with the Warriors, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin will return to the second unit Monday after receiving a spot start in place of Monte Morris (hamstring) last time out. With Morris back and Bradley Beal (hamstring) still sidelined, Goodwin should continue to see significant action off the bench.

Goodwin logged five points (2-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 26 minutes during Friday's 112-108 loss to the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin was inserted into the starting lineup Friday, replacing Monte Morris, who was ruled out due to a hamstring issue. Despite the increase in role, Goodwin failed to produce, ending the night with a team-worst minus-20 plus/minus. There is no word on whether Morris will miss additional time, but if that is the case, Goodwin could very well stick in the opening unit. With that said, managers may be better off targeting Delon Wright, who profiles as a better per-minute option thanks to his ability to contribute across multiple categories.

Goodwin will start Friday's game against the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

Monte Morris has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, allowing Goodwin to enter the starting five for the fourth time this season. Across his previous three starts, the two-way guard has averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 33.0 minutes per game.

Goodwin produced two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds in 12 minutes during Tuesday's 113-110 victory over the Suns.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin remained in a bench role for a fourth consecutive game Tuesday, and he was unable to generate much production in any categories while playing just 12 minutes. Over his last four appearances, he's averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 18.5 minutes per game.

Goodwin isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's matchup with the Nuggets.

EDGE Analysis

Monte Morris' return to the lineup Wednesday will move Goodwin back to his bench role. Goodwin averaged 14.0 points, 6.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 37.0 minutes over his past two starts.

Goodwin ended Saturday's 114-107 loss to the Clippers with 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, six assists and six steals over 38 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Goodwin got off to a slow start in this one by scoring only two points in the first quarter, but he knocked down three of seven attempts from the field in the second period and ultimately turned in a solid scoring night. After averaging 5.0 points through his first three games in December, Goodwin has responded by pouring in 19 and 17 points in his last two matchups, respectively.
