That's the million dollar question. Convention wisdom would tell us Lin should regress, but perhaps he's stepping his game up late in the season.

The guard had been extremely inconsistent of late, including three consecutive performances of six points or fewer heading into Saturday, but Linsanity was back for a night as he buried double-digit field goals for the second time this season while going perfect both from distance and the foul line. Lin will likely continue his streaky ways as an ancillary scoring option for the Hornets, but the occasional big game remains a possibility.

Lin has seen 23 minutes or less in the last eight games, and the acquisition of Courtney Lee has resulted in Lin seeing fewer minutes. His fall has been pretty substantial in terms of statistical output as well, and Lin is best reserved for use in deeper leagues unless Lee or Kemba Walker suffers an injury.

Hairston could mean a few less minutes for Lin going forward, but Michael Kidd-GIlchrist (shoulder) being out for the season means that Lee and Lamb may be likely to spend some time at small forward. Over the last five contests, Lin is posting 7.6 points on only 33 percent shooting to go with 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 25 minutes per appearance.

Lin went off for one his best games of the season with Kemba Walker on the sidelines. After scoring a combined 10 points over his last two games, Lin's 20-plus point effort helped Charlotte's 33-17 third quarter run. If Walker is unable to play against the Heat on Friday, Lin will continue to be a valuable play in DFS.

Lin was questionable to play in Sunday's win over the Lakers, but he ended up starting in that game, though he played less minutes than normal. He'll be in the starting lineup again on Wednesday, and he'll likely see a more normal minute load.
