The high assists and steals totals offered some saving grace on an awful night for Lin, who had a tough time getting off clean looks against the Bucks' starting backcourt duo of Matthew Dellavedova and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Lin is liable for rough shooting nights like these due to the dearth of scoring talent surrounding him in the lineup, but his increased counting-stats production should help him finish with the best fantasy season of his career.

Lin narrowly missed out on the second triple-double of his career and his first since 2013-14, but he was spectacular nonetheless in helping the Nets claim their first win of the season. The 28-year-old isn't a premier point guard in real-life terms, but he looks like a strong candidate to post the best fantasy production of his career for a Nets squad that is woefully short on playmakers. He's averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers and 1.0 block across 31.0 minutes per game through two contests.

Lin scored 18 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT) and added three rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 122-117 loss to the Celtics.

Nets coach Kenny Atkinson scaled back the workload of his starters when the team fell into a hole early on, but Lin ended up leading the starting unit in playing time and turned in a quality outing. With a full-time starting role in hand and few capable challengers behind him on the depth chart, Lin looks poised to challenge for career-high scoring and assist totals while working as the Nets' primary playmaker.

While eight turnovers put a blemish on the overall stat line, Lin did limit all scorers on the night to close out what has been a stellar exhibition slate overall. The 28-year-old managed double-digit scoring in each of his five contests, with Thursday's scoring and assists totals serving as preseason highs. Lin figures to fill up the stat sheet from his spot at the point this coming season, given his scoring ability and lack of other offensive options in the Nets' starting five.

Lin scored 16 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 121-100 preseason loss to the Heat.

EDGE Analysis

With top big man Brook Lopez (rest) sitting out, Lin unsurprisingly took on the brunt of the scoring for the Nets. He's now put up 37 points in 41 preseason minutes and looks fully ready to take on the largest offensive role of his career with Lopez representing the only other high-end option in the starting five.
