So far so good in Brooklyn for Lin, who led all scorers on the night and had the hot hand from beyond the arc. The 28-year-old was brought in to provide some badly-needed scoring for what was one of the most offensively-challenged backcourts in the league last season, so he should have a certain amount of free reign to attack the basket in the coming campaign. Furthermore, the Nets current starting five as configured will still be starved for consistent scoring outside of Brook Lopez and Lin, as Bojan Bogdanovic, while certainly having shown tremendous upside last season, has not yet shown the ability to serve as a reliable source of points for an extended stretch. That will leave Lin as one of the focal points of the offensive attack, making him an intriguing value in all fantasy formats heading into the 2016-17 season.

Lin agreed Friday with the Nets on a three-year, $36 million contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

Lin is believed to be headed back to New York, but now as a Brooklyn Net. The 27-year-old should get a chance to start for Brooklyn, assuming that the Nets don't add a better player to their roster, which seems unlikely at this point. The point guard averaged 11.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 3.2 rebounds with 13.8 minutes per game for Charlotte's 2015-16 season. Overall, this deal looks like an affordable one for Brooklyn, and especially a solid fit for Lin, as he'll be reunited with coach Kenny Atkinson, a former assistant with the Knicks during the Linsanity years.

Lin has declined his $2.2 million player option for the 2016-17 season, making him an unrestricted free agent, Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

While Lin has expressed his interest to remain in Charlotte, he vastly outperformed his current contract and should be due for a sizable raise on the open market after making just over $2 million in 2015-16. The 27-year-old will likely seek a longer-term deal as the salary cap expands, and he figures to attract several suitors in search of a combo guard off the bench.

Lin tallied 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), seven assists, and six rebounds across 35 minutes in Wednesday's 90-88 Game 5 win over the Heat.

EDGE Analysis

Though the Hornets welcomed back Nicolas Batum (ankle) from a two-game absence, Lin still saw his most court time of the series, as coach Steve Clifford rode the combo guard heavily while he provided ample contributions across the stat sheet. Lin has been a solid energy guy off the bench all season for the Hornets, but because his early-game performance often dictates how many minutes he ends up receiving on any given night, he's liable for some volatile production from time to time. Still, he's been a solid complementary player for the Hornets throughout the series, averaging 14 points (on 44.7% shooting from the field), 3.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.6 three-pointers across 29.2 minutes.

Lin scored 21 points (6-10 FG, 8-9 FT, 1-3 3Pt0) while adding three assists and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's win over the Heat.

EDGE Analysis

After scoring just 20 total points in the first two games of the series, Lin averaged 19.5 over the two home matchups. His aggressiveness on offense has coincided with a pair of wins for the Hornets, and he should see plenty of touches once again in Game 5.

Lin scored 18 points (7-16 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT) while adding four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 26 minutes off the bench during a Game 3 win over the Heat on Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

The victory was the franchise's first in the postseason in 14 years, and snapped a 12-game losing streak. Lin, who's now averaging 12.7 points, 2.7 boards and 2.3 assists through three games, may need to continue providing a big offensive spark off the bench for the Hornets if they're going to even the series at 2-2 back home on Monday.

Lin is shifting to the bench for Saturday's Game 3 against Miami.

The Hornets will go with a fairly drastic lineup change Saturday, inserting Al Jefferson and Frank Kaminsky in the frontcourt alongside Marvin Williams. Courtney Lee will remain in the lineup at shooting guard, while Kemba Walker starts at his usual point guard spot.

Lin has seen less time overall since the mid-season acquisition of Courtney Lee, but the former is still an integral part of the Hornets' rotation. Lin is easily the team's best playmaker off the bench, and he will likely see plenty of minutes in round one of the playoffs.
