Withey received three minutes in a 110-77 win Friday over the Pistons, registering five points (1-1 FG, 3-3 FT) and one rebound.

Withey looks to be the 13th man on the Jazz roster, as he was active Friday, but saw fewer minutes than every other player on a night in which coach Quin Snyder emptied the bench in the blowout win. Runaway victories or big losses are about the only occasions Withey sees the floor these days now that both Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors are healthy. Withey has appeared in only three of the Jazz's 15 games since mid-December.

Withey delivered four points (2-3 FG) and three rebounds across 11 minutes in Monday's 112-103 win over the Timberwolves.

EDGE Analysis

With Derrick Favors (knee) missing the last six games and facing an uncertain timetable for a return, Withey has been one of a few big men on the roster who has seen expanded opportunities. The 26-year-old has played in each of the six contests that Favors has sat out, while logging 10 or more minutes in the last five games. Even so, with starting center Rudy Gobert typically claiming 30-plus minutes, there probably isn't room for Withey to see his role expand much further, so he'll have difficulty approaching double-double production in any given game.

Withey put up six points (3-4 FG), three rebounds, one block and one steal across 11 minutes in Monday's 104-78 preseason win over the Clippers.

EDGE Analysis

It's believed that Withey is competing with Henry Sims and Chris Johnson for the final roster spot, but the former Kansas standout probably has the edge at this point. While he hasn't produced any spectacular stat lines over his four appearances, his shot-blocking presence makes him an intriguing defensive weapon off the bench and a decent insurance policy in the event of an injury to Rudy Gobert or Boris Diaw.

Withey saw action in 51 games over his first season in Utah, averaging a career-high 12.9 minutes during his third year in the league.

EDGE Analysis

Withey spent most of the season as an afterthought behind Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert while rookie Trey Lyles and veteran Trevor Booker even saw more time on the court than Withey as relief options off the bench. Besides Booker, who's headed for free agency this offseason, all frontcourt options for Utah are under contract for the 2016-17 campaign, meaning that Withey is likely destined for another season spent struggling to earn minutes. In fact, Withey will be looking over his shoulder at Tibor Pleiss who's coming off a lackluster rookie season but holds a longer and more lucrative contract with the Jazz than Withey.

Withey supplied 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block over 28 minutes in Wednesday's season-ending 101-96 loss to the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

With both Derrick Favors (knee) and Rudy Gobert (ankle) sitting out the meaningless finale, Withey got the starting call and produced only his sixth double-digit scoring effort of the season. The big man's minutes were exceedingly scarce over the final two-plus months of the campaign, with Wednesday's allotment serving as the most playing time he'd seen since tallying 35 minutes versus the Rockets on Jan. 4. With a young and capable player in Gobert in front of him, Withey's opportunities figure to once again remain limited next season.

Withey will draw the start in Wednesday's tilt with the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

Derrick Favors was a late scratch for the Jazz, and as a result Withey will enter the starting lineup. Hey posted 9.1 points, 7.3 boards, and 0.9 assists in nine other starts this season. He should see a healthy dose of minutes as Rudy Gobert is also out for Utah.

EDGE Analysis

Withey has appeared in six games this month after seeing 10 minutes combined in two contests during February. Withey was averaging 17 and 16 minutes per game respectively in December and January while Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors dealt with injuries. However, since then Withey has become an afterthought in coach Quinn Synder's rotation, and he typically only gets to play in blowouts these days.

Withey failed to see the court Tuesday against Houston, marking his eighth DNP-CD over the last 10 games.

EDGE Analysis

Withey enjoyed a brief stint of unexpected minutes in December with Rudy Gobert hampered by a knee injury, but now Utah's frontcourt is operating at full strength and Withey has little opportunities for playing time ahead of him.

Withey came off the bench Saturday against Miami to produce eight points, three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 20 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Withey's recent surge of playing time is nearing its end since Rudy Gobert (knee) is back on the court and already seeing 28 minutes in just his second game after an 18-game absence. Gobert and Withey don't mesh on the court at the same time, so even Derrick Favors' (back) continued absence doesn't suggest Withey will retain his 20-minute average which was earned over the last 18 games.
