Young was recalled from the D-League on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Young was sent down to take part in a D-League scrimmage Sunday night with the Maine Red Claws. It was simply an effort to get him some big minutes in a game setting, even if it's not at the NBA level. The second-year guard out of Kentucky appears poised to again ride the bench for most of the season, but he's still considered a relatively high-upside prospect.

Young rejoined the Celtics on Thursday, Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young was assigned to the D-League on Tuesday, and after playing one game with the Maine Red Claws he was back at Thursday's practice. The former Kentucky star will likely spend a fair amount of time in the D-League this season, as was the case in 2014-15.

Young will rejoin the Celtics from the D-League on Thursday or Friday, Steve Bullpett of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young was assigned to the Celtics' D-League team Tuesday, but returning to the team earlier than expected. He's pretty low in the pecking order at shooting guard and small forward, so it'll be tough for the 20-year-old to play significant minutes. This move was probably made just to add some depth at both those positions on the Celtics' roster.

Young has been assigned to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA D-League, Jay King of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young has yet to play for the Celtics through three games this season after appearing in 31 games as a rookie. This move is unsurprising as the second year guard was likely the last option for the Celtics at shooting guard and small forward. Looking ahead it is unlikely that Young will be back on the roster in the near future unless injury forces the team to bring him up.

Young had his third-year option exercised by the Celtics on Friday, Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young has been largely unimpressive thus far during his stay in Boston, but there's always the possbility he'll mature into a viable option in coach Brad Stevens' rotation since the former Kentucky standout is still only 20 years old. Until that happens, Young is a lackluster option in most formats at this juncture in his career as he sees limited minutes off the bench during inconsequential moments of games.

Young totaled 10 points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), an assist, and a rebound over 16 minutes in Friday's 101-95 loss to the Knicks.
EDGE Analysis
Young set preseason highs in minutes, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and scoring. The second-year pro is considerably down the depth chart at both shot guard and small forward, but his 67 percent mark from beyond the arc Friday underscores what might be the best asset he brings to a rather deep Celtics roster. If Young can continue to provide some offensive punch with occasional long-range shooting, he could carve out consistent minutes off the bench in the 2015-16 season.

Young said he has added 20 pounds of muscle to his 6-foot-7 frame since being drafted by the Celtics last June, A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young got off to a rough start to his rookie season, as a car accident weeks before the 2014 NBA Draft resulted him missing the entire summer league and miss out on valuable development time. The swingman never seemed to recover from that setback, as he made just 31 appearances on the season for the Celtics while averaging only 10.7 minutes per game. The 20-year-old was never expected to carve out a major role in his first NBA season, but after using the rookie year as a growing experience, he should be able to contribute more in 2015-16. The Celtics will turn to Young for some sharpshooting off the bench initially, and if he excels in that capacity, he could challenge the likes of Avery Bradley, Evan Turner, and Jae Crowder for more minutes at either wing spot.

Young (Hip) will not play in Saturday's summer league game against the Blazers and will try to play Sunday, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports. Young was struggling enough before the hip injury, so playing hobbled in Sunday's game might not be the best of moves. He doesn't lose much by missing a couple of extra summer league games. The Celtics might get cautious with the former first-rounder, so Young's status for Sunday is a mystery until confirmation from the team.

Young (hip) left Thursday's summer league game with a bruised hip and will not return, Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe reports. Young hasn't played well so far this summer league, averaging just 10.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists during the two outings previous to Thursday. He's also shot just 27 percent from the field and a brutal 17 percent from the three-point line during those games, so it's clearly been a struggle. It isn't certain how severe the injury is, but the Celtics weren't going to take any chances considering it's only the summer league. We'll have to wait and see if he suits up for the Celtic's next matchup.

Young claims to have added 20 pounds to his body and plans to attack the rim more often this season, A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com reports. Young flourished in the D-League last season, averaging 21.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 17 contests, but barely registered a blip on the NBA radar. After missing summer league and training camp during his rookie season due to an automobile accident, the 19-year old shooting guard will make his summer league debut Monday alongside Marcus Smart.
