While Sampson could potentially be recalled ahead of Tuesday's matchup with the Suns, there's a chance Willie Cauley-Stein (back) is cleared to return, which should cut heavily into Sampson's playing time.

Sampson will likely see a similar workload against Cleveland, but as an unproven journeyman, he's about as risky a DFS play as it gets.

He's proven capable of some serviceable production off the bench in his two prior NBA seasons, potentially making him a piece to watch on a rebuilding Kings squad.

Out of college, he was touted as a defensive specialist who is more-or-less positionless. He last played in the NBA during the 2015-16 campaign, posting 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds across 15.9 minutes per game in 73 appearances

Sampson was waived by the Grizzlies Saturday.

Well that was fast. Sampson was released by the Nuggets last week before signing with the Grizzlies on Friday. However, he was let go Saturday by the Grizzlies, as they had to put together their final roster. Sampson logged 73 appearances between both the Nuggets and 76ers last season, and it is unclear what his next move will be at this time.
