Sampson drew the start with Myles Turner (ankle) still sidelined and had by far his best showing of the season. If Turner returns to the lineup for Friday's matchup versus the Pistons, Sampson will likely be an afterthought for fantasy purposes. Then again, if Turner sits out a fifth straight tilt Sampson could be in line to draw his fourth consecutive start.

Sampson is slated to start at forward Sunday against the Bulls.

The Pacers haven't unveiled their full lineup for the contest, but Sampson and T.J. Warren will presumably occupy the two forward spots, pushing T.J. Leaf to the bench as a result. After failing to leave the bench in the Pacers' first four contests, Sampson played 10 minutes in Friday's 102-95 win over the Cavaliers, posting four points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and one block. The move to the starting five coupled with the absence of Domantas Sabonis (calf) should leave the door open for Sampson to play 20-plus minutes Sunday.

Sampson didn't leave the bench during Wednesday's win over the Nets, his fourth straight game with no playing time.

EDGE Analysis

Sampson is yet to enter the rotation for the Pacers despite a decent showing in the preseason. He has had moments of fantasy relevance throughout his career but that seems unlikely to repeat any time soon. The injury to Myles Turner (ankle) could present Sampson with an opportunity but even that seems highly doubtful.

Sampson accounted for 15 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and an assist in 19 minutes during Saturday's win over Sacramento.

EDGE Analysis

The fifth-year forward had a solid outing Saturday, scoring 15 points and shooting well from all levels of the court. Sampson spent the majority of the 2018-19 season in the G-league but thrived in his December call-up, averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 31.8 minutes across four games for the Bulls. Although he's unlikely to be a fantasy factor this year, Sampson's in the position where a strong preseason could potentially translate itself into a more permanent bench role for in 2019-20.

Sampson has agreed to a one-year, veteran's minimum deal with the Pacers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Sampson, who appeared in four games with the Bulls last season, has earned a spot on the Pacers. He spent most of last season in the G League, however, averaging 21.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks across 30.2 minutes. Sampson figures to see a similar role in Indiana this season.

Sampson totaled 11 points (4-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 96-86 loss to the Knicks.

Sampson was a negative across all percentage based categories Tuesday, hurting a number of owners who had likely streamed him in for the back-to-back set. The playing time was still present and this performance is unlikely to impact his role for the final regular season game, coming up on Wednesday.

Sampson's scoring total was a career high and extended what has been a spectacular three-game stint for the veteran wing. Factoring in Saturday's production, the 26-year-old is averaging 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.0 block and 1.0 steal over the last three contests, and he's likely to continue in the starting five over the last two games of the season.

Sampson supplied 18 points (6-11 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 115-114 win over the Wizards.

EDGE Analysis

Sampson finished with season highs in rebounding, assists, and steals while matching his career high in made threes. The 26-year-old wing has seen substantial minutes across the last two tilts, and given the plethora of injuries there's a decent chance that trend continues across the final three games of 2018-19.

Sampson racked up 22 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT) to go with seven rebounds, one steal and one block in 30 minutes Monday in the Bulls' 113-105 win over the Knicks.

Making his team debut after inking a 10-day contract with the Bulls on Sunday, Sampson didn't have to wait long to get an extended look in a bare-bones Bulls rotation. The 22 points tied the previous career-best mark that Sampson established April 15, 2015, when he was a member of the 76ers. The Bulls have already shut down four players for the season and could do the same with Otto Porter (shoulder), Zach LaVine (thigh) and Kris Dunn (back), which could pave the way for Sampson to maintain a major role in the rotation over the final four games.
