Whiteside played only 18 minutes in Thursday's win over the Kings, but finished with 12 points (4-7 FG, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four blocks, and steals.

Whiteside ran into some early foul trouble which conspired to limit his court time, robbing him of the chance of posting a huge game while DeMarcus Cousins (suspension) was out for the opposition. Still, Whiteside was quite effective on a per-minute basis, and most surprisingly, the 50 percent career free-throw shooter knocked down all four of his attempts from the charity stripe. The center has shook off some injury concerns in training camp to deliver an excellent season to date, averaging 15 points on 62.6 percent shooting to go along with 11.3 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, and 0.7 steals.

Whiteside grabbed the first triple-double of the season Tuesday against the Timberwolves, posting 22 points (10-14 FG, 2-9 FT), 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks in 34 minutes of action.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside has been emerging as the league's best shotblocker, now averaging 15.6 points, 13.2 rebounds, and a whopping 5.6 blocks over the last five games. The only downside to his game is his inability to hit free-throws, as evidenced in Tuesday's performance. He's looking to have a very strong season, and the only thing that could limit him would be an injury.

Whiteside posted nine points (4-10 FG, 1-4 FT), 14 rebounds, one steal, and five blocks in 29 minutes of action Thursday against the Jazz.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside has been off to a strong start to the season, hitting double-digits in rebounds in six out of the first nine games, and never failing to block at least two shots over the last eight. He emerged in the second half of last season and appears to be headed in the right direction this year. However, he's had his fair share of struggles staying healthy. If he can stay on the court, there isn't much competition in the Heat's front court, and Whiteside will likely keep up this pace.

Whiteside scored 19 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 FT) and tied his season-high with 15 rebounds over 27 minutes in Tuesday's 101-88 win against the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside also chipped in three blocks and was able to stay out of foul trouble against an inexperienced Los Angeles forward group. As long as Whiteside continues to post an insane field goal percentage and big rebounding numbers, he'll remain one of the best center options in fantasy.

Whiteside scored 20 points (8-15 FG, 4-5 FT) with 11 rebounds, six blocks and a steal in 25 minutes during Sunday's win over the Raptors.

EDGE Analysis

It's the second time this season he's racked up six blocks, and he's got at least two in every start. Whiteside's emergence last year was clearly no fluke, and he's now averaging 14.7 points, 10.9 boards and 4.0 blocks through seven games.

Whiteside scored 23 points and shot 11 of 12 from the field with 14 rebounds in Tuesday's 98-92 loss to the Hawks.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside is starting to look like the breakout performer from last season, posting his second straight double-double. He also added four blocks over 31 minutes and did an excellent job containing Atlanta's frontcourt.

Whiteside sustained a cut above his left eye and received four stitches following Sunday's win over the Rockets.

Whiteside took an inadvertent elbow from James Harden and played the rest of the game with a bandage over his left eye. The big man certainly didn't appear to be hampered by the ailment, finishing with 25 points and 15 rebounds with two blocks and three steals in 34 minutes.

Whiteside scored 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 FT) with nine rebounds, six blocks and two assists in a team-high 36 minutes during Friday's 102-92 loss to the Cavaliers.

He's quickly proving that last season's breakout was no fluke, and Whiteside now has 15 boards and eight blocks through the first two games of the campaign.

Whiteside scored only four points with six rebounds, two blocks and two turnovers in 20 minutes of action on Wednesday night.

Whiteside's production and minutes were modest in the season opener, as Chris Bosh dominated the frontcourt effort for the Heat. The two blocks were encouraging, though, in such short minutes.

Whiteside finished the preseason Friday against the Pelicans with 10 points (3-7 FG, 4-8 FT), 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots over 30 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Though his 50 percent shooting mark from the line is less than ideal, it's a marked improvement from Whiteside's preseason debut back on Oct. 17, when he shot 0-for-9 from the charity stripe. That area of Whiteside's game remains a work in progress, but the center should make up for it by racking up the rebounds and blocks at an excellent rate. In just 23.8 minutes per game a season ago, Whiteside averaged 10 boards and 2.6 blocks, and with his playing time set to increase in 2015-16, those numbers could stand to tick upward.
