Whiteside (eye) will start at center for Sunday's tilt with the Clippers, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside came into Sunday listed as the expected starter, so it's not a huge surprise that he's ultimately been cleared to play. He should be able to take on his normal complement of minutes, so fantasy owners should feel comfortable getting him in their lineups. Look for Willie Reed to head back to the bench in the corresponding move and to see a significant decrease in minutes.

Whiteside (eye) is currently listed as the expected starter at center for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whtieside, who has been absent the previous four games with an eye injury, rejoined the team in Los Angeles for Friday's loss to the Lakers. He was suited up on the bench, but was not available to play. He appears to be trending toward a return Sunday, and will likely have some form of protection over his injured right eye. Assuming he does indeed return, Willie Reed, who has played surprisingly well in his absence, will likely return to a more limited role off the bench.

Whiteside (eye) has been ruled out of Friday's game against the Lakers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside was poked in the eye last Friday against the Celtics, causing him to miss the Heat's subsequent three contests. That absence will be extended by another game Friday, but Whiteside is at least traveling to Los Angeles to rejoin his teammates prior to tipoff. While that raises the question of whether he'll be able to return Sunday against the Clippers, potentially while wearing protective goggles, Willie Reed is expected to start in his place at center once again Friday.

Whiteside (eye) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Kings, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside continues to deal with a right eye contusion, but the Heat are hoping to have him back in time for Sunday's game against the Clippers. That timetable would also keep him out of Friday's tilt with the Lakers, but he should join the team on their current road trip shortly. With Whiteside out yet again, look for Willie Reed to draw another start at center after going off for an impressive 22 points and 18 rebounds over 32 minutes on Tuesday against the Suns.

Coach Erik Spoelstra said Whiteside's (eye) condition was improving, and noted that the center will visit a doctor Wednesday, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside has yet to receive clearance to fly while dealing with the right eye contusion, which resulted in him being ruled out for the opener of the Heat's six-game road trip Tuesday against the Suns. The eye examination should give the Heat a better idea when Whiteside might return, but it seems unlikely that he'll receive clearance to play in time for the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday against the Kings in Sacramento. Look for Willie Reed to continue serving as the Heat's starting center, with Udonis Haslem and James Johnson (illness) likely to pick up extra minutes behind Reed.

Whiteside (eye) is unable to fly under his current condition, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is especially troubling because the Heat will be starting a six-game road trip Tuesday in Phoenix. Whiteside has already been ruled out for Tuesday as he's back in Miami receiving treatment on his right eye that was poked Friday against Boston. While he hasn't been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Sacramento, it's hard to imagine the center being cleared in time to get on a plane and fly across the country. On top of that, there's a real possibility that Whiteside won't end up returning until Jan. 17 against the Rockets when the Heat return to Miami. During this undetermined absence, Willie Reed and Udonis Haslem will likely continue to benefit.

Whiteside (eye) will not play Tuesday against the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside was poked in the right eye during Friday's matchup against the Celtics, and although the injury didn't initially appear to be severe, it has caused him to sit out against the Pistons Sunday along with the upcoming game against the Suns. Whiteside, Josh McRoberts (foot), and Justice Winslow (shoulder) also didn't travel with the team to Phoenix, so active Heat players will be limited. With Whiteside held out, expect Willie Reed and Udonis Haslem to see a boost in minutes.

Whiteside (eye) will not play Sunday against the Pistons.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside was poked in the eye against the Celtics on Friday and he apparently needs more time to rest before taking the court. The Heat are only working with nine active players Sunday, so Willie Reed and Udonis Haslem may see considerable time on the court in place of Whiteside.

Whiteside was poked in the right eye late in Friday's game against the Celtics, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Whiteside took a finger to the eye late in the game, and while it doesn't appear to be overly serious, the center said he'll meet with a doctor when the team returns to Miami. The Heat are off Saturday before hosting Detroit on Sunday, so consider Whiteside optimistically questionable for that contest.

Whiteside compiled eight points (4-7 FG), 10 rebounds and two blocks over 35 minutes in Thursday's 92-81 loss to the Hornets.
EDGE Analysis
After rattling off 10 double-doubles in 13 games to start December, Whiteside's scoring has taken a bit of a hit the last three games, as he's averaged 10.0 points over that span. He's holding his own on the boards for the most part, although he didn't quite maximize a favorable matchup Thursday against a Hornets squad that has trouble with interior defense. Whiteside recently expressed that he's been playing hurt, so perhaps physical limitations are to partly to blame for the slight dip in performance over the last three contests.
