Whiteside is sick and did not participate in Thursday's morning shootaround. He is seeing a doctor, and his status for Thursday's contest against the Timberwolves is to be determined, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside could potentially miss his first game since Nov. 23. He's been excellent lately, averaging 18.3 points, 17.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 1.3 assists across the past six games. If he ends up missing Thursday's contest, coach Terry Stotts may have to play a ton of small-ball lineups. Anthony Tolliver would be a strong candidate to start at center.

Whiteside went off for 14 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 FT), 16 rebounds, seven blocks and four assists in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 101-99 win over the Raptors.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside recorded at least seven rejections for the third time in his last 19 games while logging his 28th double-double through 35 appearances. He's on pace to surpass his career high in that department (58 double-doubles in 2016-17) if he stays healthy for the vast majority of the season. With the Trail Blazers fighting for a playoff spot and Whiteside in the midst of a contract year, both team and player have plenty to compete for going forward.

Whiteside chipped in 21 points (9-12 FG, 3-3 FT), 18 rebounds and two blocks in 32 minutes during Sunday's 122-111 loss to the Heat.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside committed five fouls but nevertheless managed a quality showing on the road against his former team. He's very arguably putting together the best individual season of his career thus far here in 2019-20, as Whiteside is still a strong source of points, boards and blocks but has upped his assist totals and improved from the charity stripe.

Whiteside produced 23 points (8-14 FG, 7-8 FT), 21 rebounds, five blocks and a steal in 33 minutes during Friday's 122-103 road win over the Wizards.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside was a beast that Washington simply had no answer for Friday. The Trail Blazers' center had his way with the home team for most of Friday's game, resulting in Whiteside's first 20-20 performance of the season. While consistency has long been a problem for Whiteside, 30, he's played well during his first year in Portland. Next up, a date with his former club, the Heat, on Sunday.

Whiteside amassed 17 points (6-13 FG, 5-7 FT), 12 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 117-93 loss to New York.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside put up another monster line in what was the worst loss of the season for the Trail Blazers. His production has been fantastic thus far, although it is not translating to victories. Mitchell Robinson had his way with Whiteside, scoring 22 points on perfect 11-of-11 shooting. It does pose the question as to how beneficial Whiteside is when he is on the floor. He is getting plenty of minutes; however, the Trail Blazers basically have no depth at the center position.

Whiteside compiled 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-2 FT), 22 rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 37 minutes during Monday's 122-116 loss to Phoenix.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside turned in another monster performance, racking up his 13th double-double in his last 14 games. He has been one of the more surprising players this season, proving many wrong with his improved play on both ends of the floor. He is putting up first-round numbers in standard formats and has been a real positive for a Trail Blazers team that has underperformed.

Whiteside had 19 points (7-11 FG, 5-7 FT), 16 rebounds and four blocks in 34 minutes during Saturday's 128-120 loss against the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside has registered multiple blocks in nine of his last 10 games, and he continues to be a consistent defensive asset near the rim. He has been able to score in double figures at a consistent rate this season while also grabbing double-digit rebounds in 16 of his last 17 games. Whiteside should remain as one of the most productive big men in the league due to his impact on both ends of the court for the Trail Blazers.

Whiteside had 11 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 FT), 16 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Monday's 112-104 loss to New Orleans.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside has been a top-10 player this season and that form continued Monday. He looks a completely different player from the one that faded out during his last season in Miami. Given the sample size, we have to assume this is for real and while the top-10 might be a stretch, he should remain top-25 player moving forward.

Whiteside tallied 10 points (5-7 FG), 14 rebounds, three blocked shots and a steal across 31 minutes in Monday's 111-110 win over the Suns.

EDGE Analysis

White recorded yet another double-double in Monday's win, albeit just barely. That line makes it seven straight for the former Miami big man, and a whopping seventeen through 24 games. Whiteside is an excellent value in DFS formats, as he flies a bit under the radar when more prominent names are on the slate at the center position.

Whiteside had 33 points (15-21 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four blocks and two assists in 35 minutes during Thursday's 114-99 loss to the Nuggets.

EDGE Analysis

Whiteside poured in a career-high 33 points Thursday, shooting an impressive 15-of-21 from the floor. After a disrupted season in Miami, Whiteside has reinvented himself and is currently the 12th ranked player in nine-category formats. His production has been exemplary, however, the on-court impact is not as clear-cut. The Trail Blazers have now lost 16 games this season and Whiteside typically struggles in plus/minus. With that being said, Jusuf Nurkic (leg) is still a long way from returning and Whiteside should continue to get all the run he can handle.
