McDermott (knee) is considered questionable for Monday's game against the Cavs, KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports. McDermott underwent surgery in mid-December but has been ramping up his activity of late and is expected to return at some point this week. It could be as early as Monday, but if he's ultimately held out, there's a good chance he'll be back on the court Thursday when Chicago takes on San Antonio.

McDermott (knee) has been practicing with the team and Bulls' coach Tom Thibodeau said he's "pretty close" to a return, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. McDermott is reportedly three or four days away from a return and might play Monday against Cleveland. Expect him to return to his usual bench role when he does return, leaving him with limited fantasy value.

McDermott (knee) remains a "couple weeks" away from returning, per coach Tom Thibodeau, Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports. The rookie, who underwent surgery on Dec. 13, went through practice Tuesday but will take his rehabilitation slowly as he returns from a meniscus tear. Given how well the Bulls are playing, and the emergence of fellow-rookie Nikola Mirotic, Chicago really has no reason to rush McDermott back.

McDermott (knee) went through his first practice Tuesday since having his knee scoped, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports. McDermott, who underwent surgery back on Dec. 13, will slowly increase his activity level as he works back into shape. Originally given a 6-to-8 week recovery timetable, McDermott recently stated that he thinks he'll be back in closer to six weeks, putting him on track for a late-January return.

McDermott (knee) thinks he will be back closer to six weeks than eight weeks, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. McDermott's original estimated return from injury was between six and eight weeks, but he is shooting already and progressing well. When he does return, he will resume his role as a member of the bench who sees limited playing time.

McDermott (knee) has progressed to walking, riding a bike and shooting, the Chicago Tribune reports. McDermott still can't run and still has stitches, but appears to be moving in the right direction. His timetable is slotted for early February, which still seems like a realistic goal at this point.

McDermott underwent surgery Saturday to repair a small meniscus tear in his right knee and will likely need six to eight weeks to recover, the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson reports. That timetable would lead to a late January return at the earliest, but as teammate Joakim Noah can attest, this type of surgery can often result in a longer recovery than expected. Even when McDermott does return, he is not expected to have a significant role in Chicago's rotation.

McDermott (knee) will have an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee and is without a timetable to return, ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell reports. His teammate Joakim Noah had a minor arthroscopic procedure on his knee after last season and is still having problems with it, so McDermott's prospects for the rest of this season are not looking good. Even if he is able to play again this season, he will not be a major part of the rotation without an injury to someone ahead of him on the depth chart.

McDermott (knee) will not play Wednesday against the Nets, Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports. McDermott will miss a fourth consecutive game with swelling in his knee. The team hasn't provided much in the way of details, but the fact that he's been ruled out well before Wednesday's tip indicates he was not close to playing. Nevertheless, the rookie should be considered questionable to take the floor Friday versus Portland.
