McDermott (back) took part in Thursday's practice, KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports. McDermott has missed the last four games with back soreness, but a return to practice is a step in the right direction. His status for Friday's game against Detroit is yet to be announced, though he holds minimal fantasy value in most formats.

McDermott (back) will not play Wednesday in Milwaukee, Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reports. A sore back continues to plague the rookie, and he'll remain out for the fourth straight game. Hailed as one of the better shooters in the 2014 draft class, McDermott has spent much of the season buried on Chicago's bench.

McDermott missed Tuesday's practice due to a sore lower back, ESPN Chicago reports. McDermott has already been sidelined three games due to the ailment, and a fourth absence is threatened Wednesday at Milwaukee. No matter, he's logged time in just 13 of 20 games since the break, during which he's averaged 3.2 points (on 34 percent shooting) and 1.1 rebounds in nine minutes.

McDermott (back) had a setback and will be inactive Saturday, the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson reports. This will be his third straight game out of action, but he was not a key member of the Bulls' rotation, so the fantasy effects are minimal. Consider him day-to-day for now.

McDermott (back) will not play Wednesday, Nick Friedell of ESPN reports. McDermott is battling soreness in his lower back, and he'll sit out his second straight game. The rookie has played single-digit minutes in each of his last four appearances, so he's not likely to be much of fantasy contributor the rest of the way.

McDermott scored a career high 16 points (8-17 FG) and added three rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes off the bench against the Pacers Friday. This is just the third time McDermott has cracked double digits. On the other hand, he is playing 13 minutes per game since Jimmy Butler went down, after averaging fewer than three minutes per game through December, January, and February. McDermott's value is now higher than it has been since early November, but he is still only worth looking at in very deep leagues.

McDermott scored nine points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in four minutes Saturday against the Pelicans. The Bulls won big Saturday, resulting in McDermott finally being able to see some time on the court. He was very productive in limited minutes and looked to be playing with a lot of energy. With both Mike Dunleavy (ankle) and Kirk Hinrich (toe) out Sunday, McDermott might find his way onto the court again.

McDermott (knee) played two minutes Thursday against the Spurs, but did not attempt a shot or fill any other column on the stat sheet. The Bulls won big Thursday, so McDermott was able to play a couple of garbage minutes in his first game action since November. He should see more playing time as he continues to work his way back from injury, but won't play significant minutes even when completely healthy.

McDermott (knee) did not play in the loss to the Cavaliers on Monday. He was available off the Bulls' bench, but did not get into the action. The rookie out of Creighton has not played since Nov. 30. He should return soon, but the Bulls will bring him along very slowly after he missed nearly seven weeks.

McDermott (knee) will be available for Monday's game against the Cavaliers, the Chicago Tribune reports. McDermott has been sidelined since he underwent surgery in mid-December, but has been progressing towards a return as of late. It appears that return will come Monday, and McDermott could see some added minutes with Mike Dunleavy (ankle) unavailable against the Cavs.
