Wright (shoulder) is now targeting a return to game action in mid-January, Raptors radio play-by-play broadcaster Eric Smith reports.
EDGE Analysis
Previous reports indicated that Wright was hopeful to be ready at the start of the new year, but since he's still awaiting clearance to take part in full-contact workouts, an early-January return doesn't look quite as likely anymore. The second-year point guard, who has been sidelined all season while recovering from August surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, is expected to slot in as the Raptors' No. 3 point guard once he's fully healthy.

Wright (shoulder) is scheduled to meet with a specialist next week, at which point he hopes to be cleared for contact, Josh Lewenberg of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright remains hopeful that he'll be able to return sometime in early January, but he's yet to be granted permission to practice at full speed. If he's cleared by the specialist, the expectation is that Wright will ramp up his workload over the next few weeks before a potential return to the Raptors. Prior to that, however, Wright will likely play a handful of rehab games in the D-League.

Wright (shoulder) said Friday that he's on track to return around Jan. 1, Mike Ganter of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright is yet to play this season after undergoing shoulder surgery back in August, but he said he's been shooting for two weeks and is nearing a return to on-court work. The Utah product hopes to be ready in roughly a month, though he'll likely be sent to the D-League, initially, to get back up to speed before rejoining the Raptors.

The Raptors exercised the 2017-18 option on Wright's (shoulder) rookie-scale contract, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Wright is expected to be sidelined for the first two months of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, the Raptors still view him as a core player, so it's not surprising Toronto chose to pick up his third-year option. Wright is expected to settle into third-string duties at point guard behind starter Kyle Lowry and backup Cory Joseph once he's healthy.

Wright (shoulder) is expected to be sidelined through at least late December, Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was ruled out for at least four months on Aug. 1 after undergoing surgery to repair a labral tear of his right shoulder, but because he'll likely need to regain conditioning once the shoulder has fully healed, an early December return doesn't seem overly realistic. On a positive note, Wright is hoping to get cleared for full range-of-motion activities later this week, so it appears he's more or less progressing as anticipated. While Wright is out, Fred Van Vleet or Brady Heslip is expected to make the Raptors' roster as a third-string option at point guard.

Wright had surgery to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder Monday and is expected to miss at least four months, the team announced.
EDGE Analysis
Wright suffered from the injury in a summer league game two weeks ago and was unable to return. Now, the second-year point guard out of Utah, who was essentially solidified behind Kyler Lowry and Cory Joseph at the position, will be out until at least December. It is possible the Raptors look to sign another point guard before the season starts to insure the team's depth at the position.

Wright suffered a dislocated right shoulder during the fourth quarter of Saturday's summer league matchup with the Timberwolves and was unable to return.
EDGE Analysis
Wright had an X-Ray performed on the shoulder once taken to the locker room, which came back negative, so there doesn't appear to be any structural damage. While a timeline for a potential absence remains unclear, we should hear more on the injury in the coming few days. Wright finished Saturday's matchup playing 22 minutes, posting seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), eight rebounds and three assists.

Wright (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Tuesday's 102-96 overtime loss to the Heat in Game 1 of the series.
EDGE Analysis
As the Raptors' third-string point guard, Wright often finds himself out of coach Dwane Casey's rotation, which has been the case for much of the season. Wright has played in just four of the Raptors' eight postseason games, seeing no more than three minutes on any occasion.

Wright finished with 18 points (7-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt), seven assists and five rebounds in Wednesday's win over the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Wright drew the start at point guard with several Toronto regulars sitting and played a team-high 37 minutes. The Utah product will return to a reduced role as the third point guard when the postseason begins, however, and he could be in line for a number of DNP-CDs if Dwane Casey tightens his rotation.

Wright will draw the start in Toronto's season finale versus the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Wright will replace Kyle Lowry as the Raptors' starting point guard on Wednesday. He should see a heavy workload given the amount of regular rotational players being rested.
