With the Hawks losing depth at the wing this offseason, Bembry could see an increased role this season.

The former first-round pick averaged just 9.8 minutes during his rookie campaign, but with the departure of both Tim Hardaway Jr. and Thabo Sefolosha, there should be more minutes available on the wing.

The Hawks are resting a slew of players Wednesday, including Dennis Schroder, Tim Hardaway, Kent Bazemore, Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap. Thabo Sefolosha is also fresh off a groin injury, so if he plays, he'll likely see limited minutes off the bench. That allows the Hawks to get some of their young, unproven guys some minutes, hence Bembry's promotion to the top unit. Bembry has seen double-digit minutes just twice since the start of March, but he could push for a 30-plus role Wednesday with so many bodies sidelined.

Bembry's inactive status does not appear to be linked to an injury. Monday's projected absence will mark the fourth consecutive game Bembry will have missed. In the event that the 22-year-old does return to the active roster, it remains unlikely that he will see the floor long enough to make a sizable impact.

Bembry supplied four points (2-3 FG), three assists, and two rebounds in eight minutes during Wednesday's 99-84 loss to the Clippers.

EDGE Analysis

Bembry matched his career high in assists despite playing single-digit minutes for the second straight game. Bembry was averaging 20.0 minutes per game over the first six games of February, but it appears that the rookie's role is not consistent enough to warrant attention in most fantasy formats.

Bembry accrued no statistics over four minutes in a 109-104 overtime win over the Trail Blazers on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Bembry had averaged 20.0 minutes per game over the previous six contests with Thabo Sefolosha (groin) sitting out, but most of that playing time went to fellow rookie wing Taurean Prince (25 minutes) on Monday. It's unclear if Prince will continue to pick up more time than Bembry in future contests, but it may be a moot point if Sefolosha is able to play Wednesday against the Clippers.

Bembry (personal) has rejoined the Hawks and will be available Wednesday against Detroit, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Bembry had been away from the team due to a death in the family, but he rejoined the Hawks at shootaround and will be again be an option off the bench Wednesday night.
