Fox will not return to Sunday's preseason game against the Lakers due to a bruised lower back, Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fox played just nine minutes in the first half of Sunday's contest before exiting, and it's likely the Kings are remaining cautious with their first-round pick. With the Kings playing a back-to-back set to start the week, it wouldn't be a surprise if the team elects to rest Fox in Monday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Fox managed 12 points (5-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six assists, two rebounds and two steals across 24 minutes in Friday's 113-93 preseason loss to the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
The 2017 first-round pick couldn't quite duplicate the impressive efficiency he displayed in Monday's exhibition opener, but he did see a boost in minutes while also draining his first three-pointer and serving as an effective ball distributor. Fox is poised to take the starting point guard reins from the onset of the campaign, and he could go a long way towards alleviating concerns about his shooting with a strong preseason. Early returns have been promising, as Fox has shot 12-for-19 from the field in his first two preseason tilts.

Fox posted 16 points (7-8 FG, 2-3 FT), two assists, one steal, one block and one rebound across 16 minutes during Monday's 106-100 preseason victory over the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
Fox wasted no time introducing himself to the NBA, needing just 16 minutes to produce 16 points. He also managed to put up a stat in nearly every statistical category. Fox was efficient as well, missing only one shot from the field and one free throw while committing no turnovers. Overall, it was a great rookie debut for an intriguing real life and fantasy prospect.

Coach Jason March announced Thursday that Fox (ankle) will likely be rested for Friday's Summer League finale, Sean Cunningham of ABC 10 in Sacramento reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fox, who played just seven minutes in Thursday's Summer League loss to Dallas, is reportedly dealing with a nagging but minor ankle issue. With that, the Kings will likely take the cautious route with their first-round selection and rest him Friday rather than risk him aggravating his ankle. Still, it appears that the injury is minor enough to where it's unlikely it'll affect Fox's status for the start of training camp.
