Bennett scored a season-high 20 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 FT) with three rebounds and three steals in 32 minutes in the loss to San Antonio on Friday. Bennett played a season high in minutes in the blowout loss. The skills that made him the first pick in the 2013 draft are still there, but he needs to earn consistent minutes.

Bennett, starting in place of Thaddeus Young (personal), scored 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-2 FT) with seven rebounds, and four assists in 29 minutes in his first NBA start. Bennett put up a strong showing in his first start, and wold be a nice fantasy option in most leagues if he could inherit the starting job full-time. But with Young on the roster, Bennett will likely be reduced to spot starts throughout the season, unless Young gets traded.

Bennett will start Saturday against the Mavericks. It will be the first start of Bennett's young career. The top overall pick in the 2013 draft, he has averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.7 blocks in 12.3 minutes so far this season. Gorgui Dieng will head to the bench.

Coach Flip Saunders has been giving Bennett consistent run off the bench, so if Thadeus Young ever gets injured, it appears Bennett would be plugged in as the starter at power forward. Due to his considerable upside in fantasy, Bennett should be on all watchlists.

Bennett will be in uniform, but it's currently unclear how much time on the court the forward will actually see after missing back-to-back-contests due to knee swelling. There's a chance he'll serve in relief of Thaddeus Young, but don't necessarily look for Young's minutes to take a major hit as a result.

Bennett (knee) practiced Tuesday, but is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, T-Wolves radio announcer Alan Horton reports. Bennett injured the knee in Friday's game against the Magic, which forced him from the game after less than a minute. He was held out of Saturday's matchup against the Heat and will be questionable to play Wednesday. It's a positive sign that he was able to practice Tuesday, which should at least give a little more optimism on a possible return. If not Wednesday, he'll most likely return shortly after that.

Bennett (knee) will not play against the Heat on Saturday. Bennett is still dealing with lingering soreness in his right knee and will not be able to play Saturday as a result. His next opportunity to take the court will be against the Rockets on Wednesday.
