Coach Mike Brown is unsure if Andrew Bynum will play on Friday after logging eight solid minutes on Wednesday. Brown added that Bynum could be a game-time decision all season long. While he showed some promise on Wednesday, owning him in fantasy could be more of a headache than anything else this year. Proceed with caution.

The Cavaliers will wait until before tip-off to determine Andrew Bynum's status for games on Friday and Saturday. He made it through eight minutes of action unscathed on Wednesday, but is likely to be a 'game-time decision' for the foreseeable future. Anderson Varejao's starting C job is safe as long as Bynum is being eased gently back into the rotation, and anyone relying on Bynum will have to hold their breath until his status is announced pre-game.

Andrew Bynum finally returned to action on Wednesday and played pretty well in his eight minutes, hitting 1-of-5 shots to finish with three points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Baby steps. The fact that Bynum played at all is a minor miracle and while his numbers weren't mind blowing, he did look like a basketball player. The key will be how he feels when he wakes up in the morning, but for now, it looks like Bynum at least deserves a spot and the end of many fantasy benches in case he can stay healthy and work his way into 20 minutes a night.

Andrew Bynum (knees) will play in the season opener against the Nets on Wednesday. One day after Derrick Rose suited up in the season opener, Bynum will also be in action after missing the entire 2012-13 season. Although, he is expected to play in just one stretch and is unlikely to get double-digit minutes. The 26-year-old big man won't be worth starting in leagues for some time.

Andrew Bynum has been cleared by the Cavaliers medical staff to play on Wednesday, but a final decision won't be made until he warms and and sees how he feels. Even if Bynum makes an appearance tonight, it's sure to be a short one. However, if you drafted him late in a fantasy draft, this is possibly a good sign for the future, assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks in the next few weeks.

Andrew Bynum (knees) has not yet been cleared to play. This officially rules him out for Cleveland's opener, for which his status had been cryptically listed as "to be determined." He's been playing 5-on-5 for at least a week but has no clear return date, and Anderson Varejao will continue starting at C at least until Bynum is cleared for game action.

Andrew Bynum (knee) has been listed as inactive for Wednesday's opener -- for now. Rosters were due to the league by Monday morning and teams can change their inactive lists prior to each game, so the "inactive" listing is currently being spun by the Cavaliers as a procedural move in advance of Wednesday's opener. A change from inactive would seem a bit unlikely, as Bynum has yet to be cleared for full practice or game action as of Monday. Head coach Mike Brown said that Bynum has been playing five-on-five for a week and a half now, however, so while a change in Bynum's status for Wednesday is unlikely, it is not entirely out of the question.

Andrew Bynum (knees) has been practicing for over a week, including full-court 5-on-5, and Mike Brown said Bynum is "day to day." It's been a long time since we've seen Bynum on the court and a veneer of skepticism is warranted, but it sounds like he's on the verge of returning. Just remember that he has no firm return date and Cleveland will initially spoon-feed him minutes, at least until his conditioning improves and his knee responds well to playing in live games.

Andrew Bynum participated in "most of practice" Sunday, including 5-of-5 drills. This certainly qualifies as breaking news, although it's still too early to guess whether he'll play in any of the Cavs' three games in Week 1. He still hasn't been cleared by doctors for the opener so we're assuming he won't play, but another positive update or two in the next few days could change things.

Andrew Bynum did some contact work with the coaching staff before Thursday night's game. The Cavs telecast showed him doing some work in the post. He was concentrating on back-to-the-basket moves and moving around in the paint with some contact. Bynum's feet looked very slow and he lacked a lot of lateral quickness. He didn't look like a player that's close to playing in games yet and has no timetable to return.
